Noa Tohar Tishby is an Israel born Artist and Author. She is born to one of the oldest Jewish family that was involved in the establishment of Israel

1.She is Born into a Historically  Zionist Family

Noa Tishby was born in Telaviv on 22nd May 1977 into a  Zionist family. Her family had been involved in the establishment of Israel, her grandmother was among the co-founders of the the country鈥檚 first kibbutz. She is from the  lineage of Ashkenazi Jewish family, mainly composed of Jews  who migrated from Eastern Europe.

Noa Tishby like any other Israeli citizen was conscripted to  serve in the military however she served only  for two and a half years as compared to the mandatory three years. She left  her service after getting a scholarship from Telaviv Museum to study Art. Her service in the military  influenced  her future work on antisemistisn and de-legitimization of Israel debate.

She has been quoted  saying  that her service in the millitary trained her to handle any weapon “to kick any ass that require to be kicked”

3.She Started Her Acting at an Early age of 8 Years

Tishby began acting at the age of 8, mostly appearing in commercials, she rose to fame in Israel when she appeared on the Israeli television drama, and Ramat Aviv Gimmel starring as Anita in the 1990s.She also appeared on magazine covers and billboard ads as a model.

She later received a drama scholarship from the Tel Aviv Museum of Art and went on to appear in Israel鈥檚 leading TV shows, films, modeling ,theater and ad campaigns, becoming a household name in Israel.

Noa Tishby got her start as a producer  in the Israeli entertainment industry before establishing her film and television career in the United States.

She moved to the US in the year 2000s and by 2006, was already premiering on roles in show like Stark Trek, Nip/Tuck, and CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, The 4400, and Charmed. She also had a part in the 2005 film, The Island.

In 2008, Tishby sold the Israeli drama series, BeTipul, to HBO. It was the first Israeli format to become an American television show.

It was adapted as In Treatment, and it premiered in 2008 with Tishby as co-executive producer along with Mark Wahlberg.

It ran for three seasons between 2008 and 2010, before returning for a fourth season in 2021 with Tishby still as co-executive producer.

6.She is the Founder of Noa’s Arc

Tishby began pitching adaptations of other Israeli programs to American networks through her production company, Noa’s Arc.

The show, which followed  a series of fictional therapy sessions, won a Peabody Award in 2009.In the years during and after In Treatment’s first run, Tishby continued to play roles on TV shows like NCIS and Big Love.

In 2014, she founded Reality Israel, which holds a series of “leadership trips” for Jewish and non-Jewish people in Israel.

In April 2021, she published her first book,鈥� Israel: A Simple Guide to the Most Misunderstood Country on Earth鈥�, where she tells the story of Israel and Zionism and tackles long-held myths about the State of Israel and Jews .The book published by Simon & Schuster discusses the history and culture of Israel .

The book provides insights into the most misunderstood attributes of the Israel-Palestine conflict. The book initial analysis shows a well balanced story of the conflict and demystifies major Israel operations in the past that have attracted negative publicity. 

9. She is First Israel Special Envoy for Combating Antisemitism and De-Legitimization of Israel

Noa Tishby  is a  proud pro-Israel  state supporter and openly criticizes  lobby groups  and movements in support of   moderate position in the  Israeli鈥揚alestinian conflict.

In 2011 she established Act for Israel which seeks to answer the questions and correct mis-information that lead to anti-semitisms and de-legitimization of her own country.

This was instigated by the need to counter social media 鈥渕isinformation鈥�, during a  particularly  time in 2010 when  there was  online uproar among the social media fraternity accusing  Israeli soldiers  for killing nine Turkish peace activists.

She  aims at combating the issues that arise from the American society on the legitimacy of Israel and has appeared in such venues as the United Nations General Assembly, where she has significantly contributed to more countries adopting the International Holocaust Remembrance Association (IHRA).  

 She is also part of Summit Series, an organization for young entrepreneurs, as well as a member of, and is a mentor for, Women In Film.
