He is an Italian former professional footballer who played solely for Roma and the Italy national team.

The Order of Merit of the Italian Republic is the highest-ranking honor in the country for merit acquired by the nation.

The post-nominal letters for the order are OMRI The senior Italian was established in 1951 by the second president of the Italian Republic, Luigi Einaudi.

It recognizes achievements in the fields of arts, economy, literature, public service, philanthropy, humanitarian activities, and long and conspicuous service in civilian and military careers.

Francesco was awarded this honor for his exceptional skills and techniques on the field that Gaines Italy victories in numerous matches for the 5th class knight in 2000.

2. He is the second-highest scorer of all time in the Italian league

Francesco who played the most consecutive seasons in Serie A is the second highest scorer in the Italian league.

He has scored 250 goals which is 24 less than the highest scorer of all time in the Italian league Silvio Piola.

Totti spent his whole career at Roma becoming the sixth-highest scoring Italian in all competitions with 316 goals.   In addition, he has also won winning two Coppa Italia titles, and two Supercoppa Italiana titles.

In addition, he also holds the record for the youngest club captain in the history of Serie A.

He won the 2007 European Golden Shoe, Golden Foot in 2010 and was named in the FIFA 100, a list of the world’s greatest living players in 2004.

He attained five Serie A Italian Footballer of the Year awards, two Serie A Footballer of the Year awards, two Serie A Goal of the Year awards, one Serie A Goal scorer of the Year award, and one Serie A Young Footballer of the Year award.

5. His mother refused a lucrative offer from Milan in order to keep him in his hometown

Francesco was the brand ambassador for numerous companies like Nike, Diadora, Vodafone, and Pepsi.

He was signed to Nike sportswear Secret Tournament advertisement directed in the buildup to the 2002 World Cup in Korea and Japan.

Nike then sponsored two murals created in Rome in December 2014. During the period between 2005 and 2008, he worked with sportswear companies Diadora and Vodafone.

He also appeared in a commercial for soft drink Pepsi Twist filmed in the camps of Trigoria by director Gabriele Muccino.
