In the middle of the 15th century when peace finally came back to the mainland, the aristocratic nobles wanted so much to escape from the chaos of the city and take refuge. They needed splendid dwellings to be used for cultural and physical well-being such as music, fun, and study, cultivating their passion, walks in the garden, and rest from the busy tiring life of the city.

For these wants, Palladio elaborated the new concept of building with a productive humanistic function. He found an ideal solution of a combination of ancient and modern and a balance between man and nature.

The Villa had to reconcile the active life, tied to control and carrying out the agricultural works. Today, these Villas offer a tranquil alternative to the busy cities of Venice, Verona, and Padua at the height of the season.
