Peter Zvi Malkin was an Israeli secret agent and a member of the Mossad intelligence agency. He was born on May 27 the year 1927 in Zolkiewka Poland to an observant Jewish family.

In 1960 he was part of the team that captured Adolf Eichmann in Argentina and brought him back to Israel to stand for trial.

In 1989 Israeli newspaper Maariv cited him as “one of the greatest figures ever in the history of the Mossad and Israeli journalist Uri Dan called him “an extraordinary secret warrior”.

Furthermore, Peter Malkin is also said to have been involved in the search for Yossele Schumacher in the 1960s. Here are the top 10 interesting facts about Peter Malkin.

1. Peter Malkin was born in Żółkiewka, Poland

Peter Zvi Malkin was born on May 27 in the year 1927 in Żółkiewka, Poland to a Jewish family.

His fled family fled Palestine due to the rising tide of racism from Germans in the year 1936.

His sister Fruma who remained behind with her three children and other 150 relatives was murdered in catastrophe.

Malkin at the age of 12 years was recruited into the Haganah (it was the main paramilitary organization of the Jewish population) as an explosives expert. He was also an expert in martial arts and disguises.

2. Peter Malkin Career

He was first an agent and the chief of operations in Mossad for 27 years. As the chief of operations, he played a bigger role in the capture of Israel Bar a spy who had penetrated the highest levels of the Israeli government.

Malkin also led the operation against Nazi nuclear rocket scientists who took part in assisting an Egyptian weapons development program after world war II.

On May 11 in the year 1960 Malkin’s most famous mission, he and the Mossad agents led by Rafi Eitan managed to capture Adolf Eichmann who was living and hiding in Argentina.

3. He Captured Adolf Eichmann

Malkin captured Adolf Eichmann in Argentina where he lived and hide.

He approached him and greeted him and Eichmann suddenly began to fear for his life and turned trying to flee but before he could do so Malkin’s fellow agents blocked his path then Malkin grabbed him in a neck lock position and wrestled him to the ground.

He bundled him in a car that took him to a safe house that was outside Buenos Aires.

4. Peter Malkin was a Painter

In 1976 after he retired he devoted his time to painting a profession that he used as a disguise during his time in the Mossad.

Since the year 1960, his paintings have won international acclaim in London, 鶹APP, Brussels, and Israel.

5. He was an Author

 Peter Malkin served as an international consultant on anti-terrorism methods and also authored books (Eichmann in my hands). His book was used as a guide in the film operation finale. 

6. He was recruited to go after Former SS Doctor

Peter Malkin was recruited in the mid-1980s to go after SS doctor Josef Mengele.

He and his ex-Mossad agents came to a conclusion during the search that Josef was already and Malkin and the team called the operation off when they realized it was a trap.

 Malkin confronted Adolf about the death of his nephew in Poland during the Holocaust. However, he knew Adolf had a son with whom he played fondly every evening and he said: “My sister’s boy my favorite playmate was just your son’s age. A blond and blue-eyed just like your son and you killed him”

8. Peter Malkin spent 10 Days talking to Eichmann

Malkin spent 10 days talking to Adolf Eichmann however he recalled: “The problem here is with a human being, not with a monster, not with an animal.

The human being does things that even the monster does not do because the human is more sophisticated. The problem is not how the monster did it but how the human being did it”.

9. He helped New York’s Law Enforcement Department in Several Cases

A frequent destination that Malkin traveled to was the United States and in the 1970s he helped New York’s law enforcement in several cases.

And one was the investigation of Frank Terpil a CIA agent convicted of selling weapons and explosives to Uganda and Libya. However, Terpil fled the US and remains a fugitive.

10. Peter Malkin published the Argentina Journal and Casting Pebbles on the Water with A Cluster of Colors

In 2002 Malkin published the Argentina Journal and Casting Pebbles on the Water with A Cluster of Colors a collection of his art.

And some recorded his part in the Eichmann capture and memorializing his lost family members. Furthermore, his art was also exhibited in Europe, Israel, and Japan.
