Born Safra Ada Catz on December 1, 1961, in Holon, Israel to Romanian Jewish parents. Her father was an immigrant from Romania while her mother was a holocaust survivor.

At age of 6, she moved from Israel to Brookline, Massachusetts, America where she spent all of her childhood.

She then enrolled at the University of Pennsylvania Law School where she obtained her Juris Doctorate in 1986.

Since April 2007, she has been a non-executive director of oracle subsidiary Hyperion Solution.

Among her monumental transactions is the takeovers of PeopleSoft at $ 10.3 million where she served as a director since 2004, other notable acquisitions under her watch include Hyperion Corporation for $3.3 billion (2007), BEA Systems for $8.5 billion (2008), Sun Microsystems for $7.4 billion (2010), Acme Packet for $2.1 billion (2013), MICROS Systems for $5.3 billion (2014), and NetSuite for $9.3 billion (2016).
However, the NetSuite acquisition is considered one of the biggest acquisitions in Oracle’s 44-year history.
Acquiring Sun Microsystems and MICROS, best known for developing the Java programming language and the Solaris operating system while the latter provided enterprise applications for over 330,000 businesses in 180 countries, was a transaction worth many paper headlines.
She is also the company’s CFO, serving temporarily in that role from November 2005 to September 2008 and from April 2011 to the present.

8 She is Aligned with Republican Politics and Shows Interest in American Politics
In 2016 donated an undisclosed sum to the campaign of Marco Rubio during the Republican presidential primaries.
In 2018 she donated over 150,000 dollars to Republican-aligned political groups and individuals including congressman Devin Nunes.
In May 2020, Catz donated 125,000 dollars to Donald Trump’s re-election campaign.
It was during the Trump transition, that her initiatives in political activities started to pay off. According to Bloomberg, she was one of the several high-profile CEO invited to talk with elected president Donald Trump about potentially taking up a position in the incoming administration.
She has been a supporter of the Trump team and has not been shy about sharing her opinions in very public and outspoken ways and previously made the offer of support and her service to assist in any way possible as the new administration makes the transition into Trump’s new role and commander in chief.
Having been a strong proponent of tax reforms that would be beneficial for trade and the tech community, helped her to gain support in corporate circles. It is believed she would be considered for a position as a Trade Representative or the Director of National Intelligence, however, this did not happen.
