Raisa Andriana, better known by her stage name Raisa is an Indonesian singer and songwriter. She became famous for her song titled “Serba Salah” in 2011. Prior to her solo career, she was one of the lead vocalists of Kevin Aprilio’s band Andante, which was later renamed Vierra (now Vierratale).

Raisa Andriana was born on 6 June 1990 in Jakarta, Indonesia to Allan Rachman and Ria Mariaty. She studied at Binus University. Raisa’s vocal ability was evident from a very young age. Raisa began appearing on stage at the age of three, pretending to be a professional singer.

Her career as a singer began when she collaborated with famous composer David Foster to perform in a concert in Jakarta. In 2012, she was the only Indonesian singer performing at the David Foster and Friends Asia Tour.

David Walter Foster OC OBC is a Canadian musician, composer, arranger, record producer and music executive who chaired Verve Records from 2012 to 2016. He has won 16 Grammy Awards from 47 nominations.

She was the vocalist of Andante, a band founded by Kevin Aprilio. In 2008 the band was reshaped and named Vierra, consisting of five members: Raisa, Widi Soediro, Raka Cyril, Satrianda Widjanarko, and Kevin Aprilio himself. Kevin Aprilio is a pianist, songwriter and backup vocal for a band named Vierra. He’s the son of the famous composer Addie MS.

She left the band after the record company decided that they needed a different concept for the album. During her rise to fame, the band called Andante provided the right platform plus she created the Raisa6690 YouTube channel to showcase her musical talents.

Jakarta International Java Jazz Festival (JJF) is one of the largest jazz festivals in the world and arguably the biggest in the Southern Hemisphere, held in Jakarta, Indonesia. The annual jazz festival is held every early March and was designed to be one of the largest jazz festivals globally. It was held for the first time in 2005 when approximately 125 groups and 1,405 artists performed in 146 shows.

Despite the name, the festival has given more opportunities to pop artists and even electronic dance musicians to showcase their work, instead of only jazz artists. Her debut album, Raisa, was produced and released in 2011 by Solid Records and Universal Music Indonesia. The album was supported by young musicians who collaborated as producers: Asta Andoko (RAN), Ramadhan Handy (Soulvibe), and Adrianto Ario Seto (Soulvibe). Indonesian Idol is a talent search event adopted from Pop Idol ( UK ) with sponsorship from FremantleMedia in collaboration with RCTI.

The event searches for talents in the singing field. Indonesian Idol has become the biggest reality show in Indonesia. After the airing of Indonesian Idol, many other reality shows were conceptualised.
