Lyodra Margareta Ginting, known by her stage name Lyodra, is an Indonesian singer and web series actress. She is the daughter of entrepreneur Simar Ginting and psychiatric nurse Natalia Johanna Tarigan. Born and raised in Medan, North Sumatra, she is of Karo descent. She is the winner of the tenth season of Indonesian Idol, broadcast by the national television channel RCTI.

Lyodra is known for her extremely high vocal range, which is higher than the usual falsetto, called whistle register. Lyodra’s whistle register was discovered for the first time when she did some vocalizations at her parents’ house. “I just came back from school then randomly tried to reach the highest note, as high as I could with Mariah Carey’s song,” she said. 1. Lyodra Ginting is the Youngest Winner of Indonesian Idol

Lyodra Ginting participated and brought out her best to win Indonesian Idol in 2020. She was 16 years and 255 days old, which made her the youngest winner in a singing competition in the history of Indonesian Idol. That win catapulted her to stardom.

Indonesian Idol is a reality television singing competition created by Simon Fuller and produced by RCTI Production Team and FremantleMedia Asia, which began airing on RCTI in March 2004 and became one of the most popular shows in the history of Indonesian television. Part of the Idol franchise, it was as a spin-off from the UK show Pop Idol.

The concept of the series is to find new solo recording artists and the winner is determined by the viewers. After building visibility in the various singing contests Lyodra was taken under the wings of orchestra conductor Erwin Gutawa and his musician daughter Gita Gutawa. He was chosen to participate in the musical project known as Di Atas Rata-Rata 2 – DARR 2 (Above Average 2), which was a group of musically gifted children.

In 2017, Lyodra took part in the Sanremo Junior, an international singing competition for soloists aged 6 to 15 years old, held at the Ariston Theater in the city of Sanremo, Italy. There were 24 world finalists from 18 countries, divided into three categories based on participants’ age.

In the competition held on Lyodra performed the song “Dear Dream” by Gita Gutawa and won of A3 Category (13 to 15 years old), defeating nine participants from nine countries. Moreover, she was chosen as the Sanremo Junior Committee鈥檚 Award recipient.
