The Rudas Baths are supplied by the healing thermal waters of around 21 medicinal springs found below ground. Currently, the Rudas is more modern with a new treatment area and restaurant.

The major highlights of the Rudas Baths are the three main areas; the Ottoman-era steam bath, the swimming pool and the wellness centre. Tourists can enjoy both the indoor and outdoor sections with a ticket that covers both sections with discounts for students and seniors.

The swimming pool takes a Roman style and the Turkish bath is a cupola covered with an octagonal bath chamber built under Ottoman pasha Sokollu Mustafa in the 16th century. Unlike other Budapest thermal baths, visitors can spend time there until four o鈥檆lock in the morning on Friday and Saturday nights.

2. Sz茅chenyi Baths

Sz茅chenyi baths and spa is one of the largest in all of Europe and it contains twenty-one pools inside Budapest鈥檚 City Park comprised of health pools, a cooling pool, plunge pools, swimming pools, an adventure pool, a preparation pool, a weight bath pool, and a seating pool.

Sz茅chenyi is open from Monday to Sunday from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. while the outdoor pools are open until 10 p.m. the thermal spa with 1.7 million annual visitors, 15 pools, 13 indoor and three outdoor pools, and almost 3,000 sqm of water surface.

3.O谩zis Wellness Park

O谩zis Wellness Park is a family-friendly spa that is open year-round and is therefore the perfect spot for an unplanned vacation. The spa is the perfect place to relax as a family after a long day of exploring the city.

4. Gell茅rt  Baths

Gell茅rt Baths are usually open from Monday to Sunday 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. It is one of the most stunning historic spas in the Hungarian capital, slightly reminiscent of a cathedral and the second most popular bath in Budapest right after Sz茅chenyi.

It is fitted with indoor pools studded with turquoise ceramics that receive plenty of sunshine through the sky windows. It is located at the bottom of Gell茅rt Hill and adjoining the Hotel Gell茅r which is an art nouveau landmark.

The exterior and interior are both exquisitely fitted with smaller pools and a large pool. The interior is adorned with stained-glass windows and mosaic-lined floors and walls.

Apart from the pools it also has baths, saunas, treatment rooms, and a carbonic acid bathtub. Couples can get their own private smaller thermal spa to relax and enjoy each other鈥檚 company.

5. Luk谩cs Baths

Unlike Gell茅rt and Sz茅chenyi, Luk谩cs is a more calm and chilled bath. It attracts a lot of locals and is arguably the longest-standing spa in Budapest. The thermal waters in this bath and around the complex are supplied by a 30-metre-deep spring in the J谩nos Moln谩r Cave.

6. The Spa at Four Seasons Hotel Gresham Palace, Budapest

7. Palatinus Baths

This was the first thermal bath to let people bathe outside the country. It was first opened in 1921 on Margaret Island with a total of eleven pools, a wave pool, a wellness centre which was recently built, different saunas and water slides.

It is mostly known for its public thermal bath and is one of the top Budapest outdoor baths to visit. The wellness centre has only been open for a little over three years now, but its popularity has continued to grow due to the different sauna options.

 Most people prefer to visit this Budapest bath over all the others during the summer months because this one has both hot and cold plunge pools.  The cold plunge pool is quite welcome on those hotter days of the year.

8. Veli Bej baths

During the Ottoman era, Veli Bej was the biggest and most gorgeous bath in the city. Turkish domes, cupola remains and stone arches lead the way to modern steam rooms and saunas with clean striking salmon-pink walls.

Veli Bej is managed by a Roman Catholic order and has no outdoor pool. It is located inside a hospital just off the Danube, It dates back to the 16th century like Rudas and Kir谩ly baths. Some of its original features remain blending in together with the new renovations.

The baths are operated by the Order of Hospitallers and accessed from a hospital. There are peak times when one may need to wait but most of the time it is less crowded and cheaper than other baths. 9. Kir谩ly Baths

Kir谩ly baths is a Turkish spa and is a bit more traditional compared to other Budapest spas and thermal baths. The spa treatment here offers a more traditional experience without the crowds.

Kir谩ly is the smallest and cosiest bath with underground pipes. It is built away from its water source and within the city, walls to ensure that bathing could continue uninterrupted.

It was constructed back in 1565 and was later renovated during the 1950s to repair the damage from the war and later equipped with steam baths, massage jets, and saunas. 10. Dag谩ly Bath

It was first opened back in 1948 but was expanded to include a larger swimming pool and a famous Budapest thermal bath located in the city.

Initially, the water used for the baths and pools was from a well. Eventually, the natural spring water used for the Sz茅checnyi Thermal Baths was brought over to this bath as well, turning it into another thermal bath option for the city.

After renovations, the spa now has ten pools and one of them has a wave machine. Visitors get to enjoy the pools and waves while getting a relaxing massage.
