Charice Pempengco was born on 10 May 1992. He is a Filipino singer and television personality. Charice was born inCabuyao, Laguna province. He was raised by a single mother Racquel Pempengco. Charice made some minor appearances on local television shows and commercials.

1. Currently, Charice Pempengco is called Jake Zyrus
Zyrus was born as Charmaine Clarice Relucio Pempengco in Cabuyao, Laguna province. In 2013 Zyrus came out as a gay woman. In 2017, he came out as a transgender male after having male chest reconstruction and beginning testosterone treatment.
He adopted the name Jake Zyrus, and discontinued the use of the name “Charice Pempengco”. Jake Zyrus disclosed the agony he endured while concealing his gender identity before coming out as a transgender man.
2. He made his first American debut in 2007
Ellen DeGeneres invited Zyrus to appear on her show after seeing the online videos he did. To be exclusive, the online music videos that Zyrus posted on his YouTube account had over 15 million views.
He flew to the United States for the first time and performed two songs on the 19 December 2007 episode: “I Will Always Love You” and “And I Am Telling You”. His dream was coming true and his talent was being realized outside the Philippines.
3. Zyrus performed at two pre-inauguration events in Washington D.C. in 2009
The pre-inauguration events that Jake performed at were his first major events in his prime career. The first inauguration that happened in Washington D.C. was that of Barack Obama. Jake sang the song “Realizing the Dream” gala at the Hyatt Regency Hotel and the “Pearl Presidential Inaugural Gala” at the Mandarin Hotel.
4. Jake dedicated his second album to his mother
In May 2009, Zyrus released a second Philippine album, “My Inspiration”. The album consists of 12 tracks, including “Always You” and a cover of Helen Reddy’s “You and Me Against the World” performed as a duet with Pempengco’s mother.
The album was certified gold in the Philippines within two months after release, and then platinum in December 2009. the album was also made available for digital download through Amazon.com MP3 Download on June 23, 2009.
5. Charice’s first major concert was called Charice: The Journey Begins
Charice: The Journey Begins was presented to a sold-out crowd on 27 June at the SMX Convention Center, SM Mall of Asia in the Philippines. Guests included Christian Bautista ( Filipino singer, actor, host, and model), Kuh Ledesma (a Filippino singer and actress), and Little Big Star finalists.
6. Charice became Operation Smile’s official Smile Ambassador in 2010
Celebrities in the operation were; Jessica Simpson (American singer, actress, and businesswoman), Billy Bush (American radio and Television host), and Zachary Levi (American singer and actor).
