Her father is Indian, but had moved into Iran to settle due to his business and her mother is Iranian. Karimi was born in Tehran, Iran giving her the nationality of Iran. She grew up and spent most her childhood in Tehran, the capital of Iran, and received her early education from there. She was a very quiet and shy girl in her childhood and mostly spent time doing arts in her room.

Mandana Karimi is very health conscious. She has a very strict diet consisting of only healthy foods.  However she has cheat days where she eats Pizza, Chocolates and Ice Cream . When she is not spending time with her family and busy doing shoots, she loves to do yoga, exercise and workout in the gym.

She has very few health complications apart from her appendix surgery. She took to social media on December 3 to inform her fans and followers that she is was undergoing an appendix surgery. The actress also shared a picture of herself from the hospital as she recovered and thanked everyone for their prayers.

After completing her graduation, she started her career as an Air Hostess. She later quit her job and started to do modelling. While modelling, she worked on international modelling projects that sent her to Hong Kong for some time. After working on various international modelling projects in 2010, she came to Mumbai, India for 3 months in connection with a modelling contract.

Mandana Karimi made an appearance in the movie roy, a 2015 Indian Hindi-language romantic drama film directed by debutant Vikramjit Singh and produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Divya Khosla Kumar and Ajay Kapoor under Freeway Pictures. She worked alongside Arjun Rampal and Jacqueline Fernandez, Shernaz Patel, Rajit Kapur and Shibani Dandekar.

Mandana was recently seen opposite Kunal Kemmu in Bhaag Johnny and will also be seen in Kya Kool Hain hum 3 with Tusshar Kapoor. Later in 2016, she played the role of Shalu in the Bollywood movie Kyaa Kool Hain Hum 3.

9.She divorced her husband

Mandana got married to her long-time boyfriend Gaurav Gupta, an Indian businessman from Mumbai, in 2017. The couple married in court in early March the following year, which was followed by a lavish Hindu wedding in March.

Not long after she filed a police complaint of domestic violence against him alleging domestic violence. This was around three months after they got married, they therefore had no kids.

After some time she withdrew the case in hopes of saving the marriage but ended up separating from her husband in 2021. In 2018, during the Me Too campaign, she alleged that Sajid Khan and Umesh Ghadge sexually harassed her which has sparked various controversies.
