Lihpao Land(Lihpao resort) is a theme park located in Houli District, Taichung, Taiwan. It currently has two roller coasters, including Gravity Max, the world’s first coaster to feature a true 90-degree drop and the world’s first tilt coaster.
The site where the theme park sits today used to be a ranch owned by Taiwan Sugar Corporation. The theme park was originally established in July 1998 as Yamay Recreation World or Yamay Discovery World. It was renamed to Lihpao Land in 2012

Besides Gravity Max, Lihpao Land has several themed areas with varied attractions, such as the Mine Express roller coaster, the Hook (a pirate ship ride), and the Wild Flume Adventure, a reversing log flume attraction.
The the theme park also has several Architecture including Discovery Walk, D Street, Enchanted Forest, Fairy Tale Village, Palace of Dreams, Yamay Island and the Sky Dream which is Taiwan’s tallest ferris wheel, at 394 feet (120 m).

The Lihpao land park is family friendly. This place is great for family (with kids from elementary school to high school) and a group of young people who can enjoy the ride and other attractions.
Some of the favorite attractions are: The Big wave, Aumuhu, Lazy river, Cowabunga. One can also bring your own food to the place of the like to because there is no restrictions. Otherwise, this park is more for families and has a pretty cool river ride.
3. The park normally not crowded more so on weekdays
The park is not normally crowded more so during weekday and this means that people don’t have to wait to get on rides and the washrooms are unexpectedly clean. people can ride every ride as much as they wanted, no wait. There are rides for all ages, and decent food options too.
Seems Taiwanese don’t take weekdays off to go to amusement parks like Americans do. Some rides we went on 2 to 3 times. The park needs renovation as its showing its age. Please note water park is closed in Winter. It’s a place suitable for child and adults that love a thrill. There is lots of dining options.

Lihpa land has 2 parks: 1 conventional park with roller coaster etc, 1 water park . We just did the water park, which has attractions like 9 big waterslides, waves pool and a lazy river (where you lay down on a inflatable pillow) .It also has a few attractions for younger kids and a serious foam party place.
Lipao Land is split into two parts: one side are the rides and ‘dry land’, the other is the water park.There are rides for the young and the young at heart. The 90 degree drop roller coaster is crazy, and the one where you go upside down over the fountains was scary too.
5. Transportation to the Lihpao Land is easier and cheaper
Transportation to the Lihpao Land is easier and cheaper. It took 1 hour to get from Taichung train station and then free shuttle bus or 155 bus. Take Bus No.155 from Taichung HSR Station or Chaoma Bus Station which directly go Lihpao Land.Can also take Taxi.Before Leave from Taichung to Lihpao Land please check bus for your Convenient.
The park is about 15 minutes away from Houli train station (200TWD for the cab), or you can take the public bus from Fengyuan train station which will take about half an hour. If you have the Youth Travel Card (obtainable from Visitor Information Centres around Taiwan), you pay a reduced entry fee of 500TWD, which is much less than the original fee of 750TWD for adults.
6. There are several eateries provided in the park
There are several eateries provided in the park. The eateries provided include; pasta, noodles, hamburgers, rice set meals at reasonable price (around NT200-300 per set). The washrooms were clean and tidy. There is also nutcracker decoration and the Gaudi style ornamentation added for a European feel to this premises.
The food stalls and restaurants could have more variety. No worries about food as there are many restaurants in the Discovery World. Most of their food is local, though there are some few food types which are international for example Pizza.

The Lihpao land also has a racing park which is also Taiwan’s longest karting track, the LIHPAO RACING PARK. Built to the highest specifications, this is Taiwan’s only karting racetrack to be accredited by the FIA and CIK.Taiwan’s longest karting track at over 1.5 km.

There are also several restaurants near it including; Thai Town Cuisine – Taichung Lihpao Outlet Mall Store (0.14 mi), Mingyue Pavilion Korean BBQ (0.13mi), FuYue Dim Sum – Fullon Hotels & Resorts Yamay (0.15 mi), Jirocho – Li Bao (0.14 mi) and Starbucks – Lihpao (0.14 mi).
10. The park is open at different hours on different days
The Lihpao park is open at different hours on different days including on Mon – Fri at 9:30 AM – 5:00 PM and Sat – Sun 9:30 AM – 8:00 PM.These hours can also varry sometimes because of climatic change and any change is always communicated to clients and visitors.
