Homes are undoubtedly the most prized property of a person. They serve as the primary indicators of the social standing of their residents in part because they guarantee a comfortable living and in part because of this.

Status is also crucial in the modern, fiercely competitive society we live in. While a decent-sized house is more than sufficient for the majority of people, some people’s aspirations can only be met by huge, showy palaces.

You can bet that they come with more financial pressure than they can handle. However, that does not imply that the homes we will be discussing are not lovely, because they are really stunning.

Beyond their enormous scale, not many of us can even imagine the style and architecture they possess.

They are grand, fashionable, and technological. Here are the biggest houses and mansions in the world.

1. Istana Nurul Iman

The palace is the official house of Hassanal Bolkiah, the Sultan of Brunei, and the location of the government of Brunei. Istana Nurul Iman Palace is by far the world’s biggest home with its 2.15 million square feet of space.

It sits a few kilometers southwest of Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei’s capital city, on a spread of green hills beside the Brunei River.

Leandro V. Locsin, a Filipino Visayan architect, used golden domes and vaulted ceilings as a design feature of the building which was finished in 1984 with a price tag of roughly US$1.4 billion.

It has no less than 1,788 rooms and 257 bathrooms, a 110-car garage, stables for horses, a dining hall, swimming pools, and even a mosque that can hold 1,500 people.

2. Safra Mansion

The Safra Mansion is a massive 117,000-square-foot house with 130 rooms, indoor and outdoor pools, and a high wall surrounding it.

It is located in Sao Paulo, Brazil. The mansion is similar to the Villa Leopolda on the French Riviera, which belonged to Lily Safra and her husband Edmond, a renowned banker who perished in a suspicious fire at his mansion in Monaco back in 1999.

Few people are aware of what’s inside because the Safra family members prefer to keep their business private.

They are also well recognized for owning a number of extremely expensive houses all over the world.

3. Antilia

Antilia is a private home in the billionaire’s row of Mumbai, India, with unique architecture, with each floor designed differently and using different materials.

It is the home of the Indian billionaire Mukesh Ambani and his family, who moved into it in 2012.

It cost about $1 billion to build and has a total surface area of 400,000 square feet, at 27 stories, 173 meters (568 ft) tall, making it the second largest private mansion in the world at the moment.

It has three helipads, a 168-car garage, a ballroom, nine high-speed elevators, a 50-seat theater, terrace gardens, a pool, spa, health center, a temple, and a snow chamber with snowflakes shooting out of the walls.

4. Biltmore Estate

This is a historical home museum and a popular tourist destination in Asheville, North Carolina.

It is a Chateauesque-style mansion constructed for George Washington Vanderbilt II between 1889 and 1895 and, at 178,926 square feet (16,622.8 square meters).

Its architecture completes the beauty of the mountainous landscape in the area and it remains one of the most prominent examples of Gilded Age mansions.

There are at least 250 rooms with 43 bathrooms, 65 fireplaces, a bowling rink, a library with 23,000 books, a large indoor pool, and all the contemporary conveniences you could want.

5. Modern Â鶹APP

Â鶹APP is the home of David Siegel, the man behind Westgate Resorts, and his wife Jackie situated in Orange County, Florida.

It measures 85,000 square feet with an 8,000 sq ft master bedroom and over 30 bathrooms, 15 bedrooms, 11 kitchens, and 6 swimming pools.

It was mentioned in a number of documentaries, The Queen of Â鶹APP is the most well-known.

6. Witanhurst

Whitehurst is a large Grade II listed 1930s Georgian Revival mansion located on 5 acres in Highgate, north London.

It was constructed using architect George Hubbard’s design, including a portion of the once-large Parkfield estate.

All the contemporary conveniences one might desire are included in the 90,000-square-foot home, including a swimming pool with a sauna room and a gym, a movie theater, a massage parlor, and lots of parking.

It has had several prominent owners since being rebuilt and Andrey Guryev owned it since 2008.

7. Villa Leopolda

This is a sizable detached home in Villefranche-sur-Mer, on the French Riviera, in the Alpes-Maritimes region.

Ogden Codman Jr., an American architect, built it between 1929 and 1931. It was initially created as a gift for the mistress of Belgian King Leopold II, Blanche Zélia Joséphine Delacroix.

Brazilian millionaire Lily Safra owned it until 2008 when she eventually sold it to a Russian oligarch. During the grueling World War I, the 80,000-square-foot property was even used as a military hospital.

Huge grounds, two guest cottages with a combined 11 bedrooms and 14 bathrooms, and arguably the nicest beachfront on the continent are all features of the property.

8. La Reverie

La Reverie is the seventh-largest celebrity home worldwide and the biggest in Palm Beach, Florida.

It was built by Sydell Miller, the owner of Matrix Essentials hair product company. It kind of seems like a house rendering, but it’s actually quite large.

Beyond providing a comfortable place to live, the present owners also use it to organize concerts and charitable events.

9. The One

The 74,000-square-foot property in Bel Air, California, was designed and is now being constructed by movie producer and real estate developer Nile Niami.

The home will include practically every amenity you can imagine, such as a 5,000-square-foot master suite, an Imax cinema, and four swimming pools.

A garage big enough to fit at least 30 automobiles, and an 8,500 square-foot nightclub.

It feels more like a party house utilized for various occasions with 20 bedrooms, 30 bathrooms, and a specially constructed jellyfish room than it does like a proper house.

10. Pensmore

Pensmore was built by Steven Huff an astrophysicist and former CIA officer. The 72,215 square feet is located in Highlandville, Missouri.

Although the construction work started back in 2008, its fate is still unknown. The owner wants it taken down and completely rebuilt because it isn’t as sturdy as he had hoped it would be.
