Guyana is a country on the northern mainland of South America. It is bordered by the Atlantic Ocean to the north, Brazil to the south and southwest, Venezuela to the west, and Suriname to the east. The Guyana national football team, nicknamed the Golden Jaguars, represents Guyana in international football and is controlled by the Guyana Football Federation.
It is one of three South American nations to be a member of the Caribbean Football Union of CONCACAF alongside Suriname and French Guiana.Until the independence of Guyana in 1966, it competed as British Guiana. They qualified for the Caribbean Nations Cup in 1991, coming fourth, and in 2007.

Carl Edward Richard Cort who was born on 1st November 1977 is former footballer who last played as a forward for Tampa Bay Rowdies in the North American Soccer League. He has previously played for Wimbledon, Lincoln City, Newcastle United, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Leicester City, UD Marbella and Norwich City.
He was born in England but he chose to represent Guyana at international level.He played for the youth teams for England before he made a total of 6 appearances for the Guyana national team from 2011-2012.He was one of the best in his prime before the big money move to Newcastle United.
2.Leon Cort
Leon Terence Anthony Cort who was born on 11th September 1979 is a former footballer who played as a defender who played for the Guyana national team. He is the younger brother of Carl Cort and the older half-brother of Ruben Loftus-Cheek. He has made a total of 6 appearances and scored 1 goal in the process.
Cort formed a strong defensive partnership with Ryan Shawcross at the Britannia Stadium as Stoke gained promotion to the Premier League.In October 2011, Cort was called up to Guyana for their 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Barbados and Bermuda. He scored his only international goal on 11 November 2011 in a World Cup qualifier in a 2–1 win against Trinidad and Tobago.

He also played for some of top clubs in different countries during his playing career. Nicknamed Lily, Pollard was named assistant to national team head coach Michael Johnson in February 2019. He is currently the assistant coach in the Guyana national team and could be set for a managerial role in the future.

Walter Moore who was born on September 1st, 1984 is a Guyanese professional footballer who plays as a left-back and left midfielder for Ykkonen club FF Jaro and the Guyana national team. He is the player with the most caps in the history of Guyana, with 77 caps and has scored 5 goals in the process.
Moore has played left back for the Guyana national football team since 2004. He scored his first international goal on October 13, 2010 in a 2010 Caribbean Championship game against the Netherlands Antilles. Moore retired from international football in October 2016,but he soon made a return to the squad.

Trayon Denzil Bobb who was born on 5th November 1993 is a Guyanese professional footballer who plays as a left-winger for S.U.1 de Dezembro of the Portuguese Campeonato de Portugal league. He also represents the Guyana national team and has made a total of 45 appearances for them and scored 12 goals.
Bobb has represented Guyana on various levels of international competition, having been capped for the under-20 and the Guyana national teams. Considered to be the future of Guyanese football, Bobb has quickly improved since his national team debut and has become a permanent fixture in the senior team.

Nigel Codrington who was born on 5th July 1979 is a Guyanese former footballer whose last club was Camptown Georgetown in the GFF Super League and played for the Guyana national team. He is the all-time top scorer of Guyana with 18 goals.
He also made a total of 26 appearances for Guyana national team and played for some big clubs in his country including Camptown George, Cleveland city stars and Caledonia AIA. He is considered one of the best players to have come from Guyana as a country.

Shawn Bishop who was born on 15th September 1979, in Georgetown is soccer player from Guyana. Bishop plays in midfield and currently plays for Alpha United FC in the GFF National Super League. He has also played, and scored, for the Guyana national football team where he made a total of 23 appearances.
Bishop first played for Guyana in 2006, being included in the country’s 2007 Caribbean Cup squad. At the tournament, Shawn scored his only two international goals to date, netting against the Netherlands Antilles in a 5-0 win, and scoring the only goal against Grenada on 10 September.

Christopher Ronald Nurse who was born on 7th May 1984 is an English-born Guyanese footballer who plays for Miami United FC in the National Premier Soccer League and the Guyana national team. He has made a total of 47 appearances while also scoring 5 goals in the process.
Nurse, who is of Guyanese descent, is a current International player for the Guyana national football team nicknamed the Golden Jaguars, despite having been born in England. In September 2011, Nurse was announced captain of the Guyana national football team for the 2014 FIFA World Cup qualification matches.

Matthew Anthony Briggs who was born on 6th March 1991 is an English-born Guyanese professional footballer who plays as a left-back for Gosport Borough and currently captains the Guyana national football team. He made his debut for the national team in 2015.
Eligible to represent both England and Guyana, Briggs has represented England at under-16, under-17, under-19, under-20 and under-21 levels, and has represented Guyana at full international level.He has made a total of 25 appearances and scored 1 goal in the process in that time.
10.Samuel Cox
Samuel Peter Cox who was born on 10th October 1990 is a footballer who plays as a midfielder or defender who plays for National League South club Welling United and represents the Guyana national team. He also works as a coach at the Tottenham Hotspur Academy.
Cox was born and raised in England, but is of Guyanese descent. He was called up to the Guyana national football team in May 2015. In March 2019, he was captain of Guyana, who qualified for the CONCACAF Gold Cup for the first time in their history.
Guyana has never qualified for the FIFA World Cup, but on 23 March 2019 they qualified for the first time for the CONCACAF Gold Cup.
