Europa-Park is the largest theme park in Germany, and the second most popular theme park in Europe, after Disneyland Âé¶¹APP.Europa-Park is located in Rust, south-western Germany, between Freiburg im Breisgau and Strasbourg (in neighbouring France) 

The resort (park, parking lot, hotels and back stages) occupies roughly 95 hectares. It hosts six hotels, one campground, and one movie theater.Europa-Park is run by the Mack family, which has produced vehicles since 1780, circus wagons since 1880, and roller coasters since 1921.

Let’s take a look at some of the most interesting facts about it;

1. The park is home to 13 roller coasters

The park is home to 13 roller coasters, the oldest, which opened in 1984, is the Alpenexpress Enzian, which is a powered coaster that speeds through a diamond mine. Europa-Park has very high capacity roller coasters and attractions, meaning the park can accommodate approximately 60,000 guests per day.

The park counted 5.75 million visitors in 2019. It is also the location of the Euro Dance Festival.In November 2019, Europa-Park’s “Rulantica” water park opened, along with the Museum-Themed Hotel, “KrønasÃ¥r”.

2. The Europa park has several hotels which provide accommodation

The Europa park has several hotels in it including; Hotel Colosseo (four star superior) which is themed around the Roman Colosseum and features a fountain show created by French company Aquatique Show International and Hotel Santa Isabel (four star superior) which is themed around a Portuguese Monastery.

Other hotels include; Hotel El Andaluz (four stars) which is themed as a Spanish Villa, Hotel Castillo Alcazar (four stars), which is themed as a Spanish Finca and Hotel Bell Rock (four star superior) themed around New England and features a lighthouse. 

Hotel KRØNASÃ…R (four star superior) is themed as a natural history museum that shows unique and historical objects collected by the “Adventure Club of Europe.”

3.Reservations are made online 

Due to the limited capacity, we recommend booking the tickets online in advance. The admission tickets are date-specific and available in the ticket shop.

For groups (20 people or more) and school classes, bookings are made via the group reservation office.202.This will be the easiest and most efficient way of getting a ticket to the famous Europa park. 

Europa-Park also offers about a dozen different shows, including figure skating, variety shows, and Flamenco, as well as a puppet theatre and junior club studios, the last being an interactive show in which children can experience the world of filmmaking.

4. The Europa park is open from 9 am to 6 pm during summer and Haloween

Europa-Park is open from 9am until at least 6pm during the summer and Halloween season.During the winter season we will enchant you from 11am until at least 7pm. Europa-Park has been celebrating Halloween since 1998.

Every year from the end of September until the beginning of November, visitors find themselves in a creepy environment, surrounded by hay bales, corn stalks, skeletons, and countless pumpkins of all colours.

Numerous attractions, shows, and food and beverage facilities adopt a Halloween theme every year, as does the daily parade. In the 2014 season, Europa-Park premiered their independently produced Halloween musical, “Spook Me!”

5. The Europa park hosts several events every year

The Europa park hosts several events every year including; Euro Dance Festival which is located annually at Europa-Park since 2007, Ladies Only Festival takes place on one weekend between the months of January and March and Miss Germany Pageant ( an elections which takes place in the month of February annually). 

Other events include; Dinner Theater which happens on several nights of the year after the amusement park closes, Science Days which takes place several days every May and October and offers Science Days for school children, and CloudFest which is an annual conference in March about cloud computing aimed at commercial organizations. 

6. The Europa-Park is also a media centre

The Europa-Park has gained more and more importance as a media centre. Channels, such as BR, Sat.1, SWR, ZDF, Nickelodeon and Prosieben, all produce shows in the park.The park as become such an integral part of the media and the world at large. 

Each year since the summer of 1995, SWR airs its show called Immer wieder sonntags, which is moderated by Stefan Mross, live from the IWS-Arena in the Europa-Park. Among other tickets, there are also combination tickets, which allow you to visit the park and see the show in one day.

7. The Europa park covers an area around several European countries 

The Europa park covers an area around several European countries. The areas themed around European countries are: Germany, England, France, Greece, Netherlands, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Austria, Portugal, Russia, Switzerland, Scandinavia and Spain.

The other themed areas are: Adventure Land and Grimm’s Enchanted Forest.The owner of the Europa Park is Mack Rides and it operates in the following seasons April to early January. The park has received more than 5 million people since it was opened on 12 July 1975.

The Europa park is family friendly and the theme park has a wide range of rides and activities for everyone regardless of age or gender. Spend a whole day here with a range of rides and activities for all ages.

Very hot in summer months and even when busy queues are not as they are in U.K. with mostly much shorter waiting times. It is one of the best and gives some of the best services across the globe and is also one if the best attractions in Germany and Europe at large. 

9. The transportation to the Europa park is easier and somehow cheaper

The transportation to the Europa park is easier and somehow cheaper, one can reach the park via the A5 motorway (exit 57b Rust). Follow exit 57b Rust and drive directly to Europa-Park and the Europa-Park Hotels.

If you would like to arrive by rental car, we recommend our mobility partner SIXT. Reserved cars can be collected or dropped off at hotel ‘Colosseo’. The nearest train station is Ringsheim, a neighbouring town of Rust. From there, an exclusive Europa-Park bus will take you to the main entrance of Europa-Park in a few minutes (line 7231/7200).

10. The park has found itself under criticism on several occasions  

The park has found itself under criticism on several occasions. In 2017, Europa-Park recognised criticisms of hurtful portrayals of black people portrayed as wild natives, and white people as colonial rulers in safari outfits in the Adventureland themed area.

However, the park rejected allegations of racism and discrimination up to 2021 and made only small adjustments in response, such as renaming “Colonial Food Station” to “Adventure Food Station”.

The Europa park is found in the heart of Europa, nestled between Black Forest and the Vosges. It is one of the world’s most beautiful theme parks.
