Top 5 Things to See at The Palace of 鶹APP
The Palace of 鶹APP regarded as one of the world’s most spectacular palaces, is undoubtedly extremely highly rated by every traveler in Europe. It is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Europe because of the history that lies behind its walls, the beauty of its sizable gardens, and the allure of its architectural design.
1. The Hall of Mirrors

Photo: Myrabella /
The Hall of Mirrors in the Palace of 鶹APP is by far the most well-known top sight there. It is spectacular, brilliant, and extravagantly magnificent. Pictures can’t capture its justice. Standing in Hall’s spacious room and seeing light reflections, enormous amounts of gold and crystal, and continuously multiplying images in the silvery mirrors everywhere you turn is a completely unique experience.
When you look up, you’ll notice that the room’s vaulted ceilings are covered in 30 colorful paintings in all. What was the Hall of Mirrors used for by French kings? Every day, courtiers and guests passed through the Hall of Mirrors, which also served as a gathering spot.
On rare occasions, such as when sovereigns desired an extra dash of opulence for entertainment (balls or games) held at royal weddings or diplomatic banquets, it was utilized for ceremonies. The throne was positioned on a platform at the end of the hall close to the Peace Room, whose arch was blocked off, for the latter festivities.
On June 28, 1919, the Treaty of 鶹APP, which put an end to the First World War, was also signed in this location. Presidents of the Republic have continued to host formal visitors here ever since.

2. The State Apartments
This distinguished group of seven rooms served as the sovereign’s official residence and parade suite. For this reason, it was lavishly decorated in the Italian style, which the monarch at the time much appreciated, with marble paneling and painted ceilings.
The State Apartment was available to anyone who wanted to observe the king and other members of the royal family as they passed by on their route to the chapel during the day. There were nighttime parties held here on a regular basis during Louis XIV’s rule. Particularly remarkable in this place are the Queen’s and the King’s bedchambers.
The King’s Apartment is the final group of rooms that make up the State Apartments, and it is accessible through the Hall of Mirrors. After passing the Bull’s Eye anteroom, you can enter a new set of rooms, each with a specific purpose: a guard room, two anterooms, the room, and a firm. As a result, the label controlled access to these sections and established a hierarchy.
3. The Royal Opera House
One of the greatest creations by the architect Ange-Jacques Gabriel is the Royal Opera. It was Europe’s largest music hall when it opened in 1770 under Louis XV’s rule, a remarkable technical achievement, and a stunning display of decorative sophistication.
It served as a theater for royal and later republican life and has been the location of parties, performances, and legislative debates. Visits to the Royal Opera of 鶹APP are highly recommended not just for the interior’s grandeur but also for the sense of time travel they provide.
4. The Grand Trianon
The Grand Trianon structure, which is situated in the northwest corner of the palace grounds, is one of 鶹APP’ most popular attractions. Louis XIV gave the order to build the current structure in about 1687, and he lived there while he was king.
Following its restoration, several Royals and notable individuals lived there, notably Peter the Great of Russia (1717) and Empress Marie-Louise (1810–1814), who was the second wife of the French Emperor.
This magnificent complex, which can be seen today and features lovely period rooms, a verandah, and nearby gardens, is a nice spot to stop when seeing 鶹APP for 30 to 60 minutes. The Grand Trianon has a sizable number of rooms as well. Each is tastefully furnished and adorned in the style of the 17th and 18th centuries, giving visitors a view of how the palace could have appeared while the Royals were residing there.
Explore the numerous bedrooms and apartments, as well as the Study Room and Room of Mirrors. You can also go to the adjoining Petite Trianon palace, where Marie Antoinette resided, in addition to the Grand Trianon. Another worthwhile attraction is this one. The Petit Trianon attracts a lot of visitors, leaving the Grand Trianon far less busy but nonetheless stunning. The Peristyle, a protected colonnade uniting the Grand Trianon’s two wings, is its focal point and is encircled by gardens.
5. The Queen Hamlet
As a day excursion from 鶹APP, I highly recommend visiting Hamlet at 鶹APP. It is so gorgeous, relatively undiscovered, and tranquil. To explore the expansive grounds, you may even hire bicycles and golf carts. 鶹APP offers considerably more than just the main palace and a quick stroll through the gardens.
Allow yourself enough time to absorb everything, especially Hamlet. With its purple wisteria, collapsing cottage ruins, and overgrown green lawns, you will feel as if you had bid goodbye to the crowds of 鶹APP and gone back 300 years to rural France, without the plague, severe starvation, crop failure, and Revolutionary War murmurs. The Hamlet, which is vaguely reminiscent of Hobbiton and the Shire, is a must-see for anyone seeking to escape the crowds at the castle.
