Jules Bianchi was born in Nice, France, to Philippe and Christine Bianchi. He had two siblings, brother Tom and sister Mélanie.
Bianchi came from a family of racers. His uncle Lucien, won the 1968 Le Mans 24 Hours with Pedro Rodriguez. Furthermore, the 17 grand Prix starts. Additionally, his grandfather Mauro was a successful GT racer.
Jules Bianchi was a French motor racing driver. Bianchi raced in Formula Renault 3.5, GP2 and Formula Three and was a Ferrari Driver Academy member.
Jules joined Formula one as a practice driver in 2012 for Sahara Force India. In 2013, he made his debut driving for Marussia. Interestingly, He drove for the Marussia F1 Team in the FIA Formula One World Championship.

1. He was Inspired by His Grandfather
Bianchi came from a family of racers. His uncle Lucien, won the 1968 Le Mans 24 Hours with Pedro Rodriguez. Additionally, his grandfather Mauro was a successful GT racer.
His grandfather took part in GT racing during the 1960s. Moreover, three non-championship Formula One Grands Prix in 1961. Legendary driver Michael Schumacher was also a source of inspiration for young Bianchi.
2. His Motorsport Interest Started at 3 years of Age

He expressed his interest in motorsports at the age of 3, through Karting. He was facilitated by the fact that his father owned a Kart track.
3. He Finished as Champion with Five Wins in French Formula Renault 2.0
In 2007, Bianchi started racing in French Formula Renault 2.0 for SG Formula. This was after leaving karting.
During his racing with SG Formula, he finished as champion with five wins. In the same year, he competed in the Formula Renault Eurocup. Interestingly, he had one pole position and the fastest lap in three races.
4. Winner of the Masters of Formula 3 at Zolder
In late 2007, Bianchi signed with ART Grand Prix. He sighed the contract in order the compete in the Formula 3 Euro Series.
Bianchi was the winner of the Masters of Formula 3 at Zolder in 2008. Additionally, he finished third in the 2008 Formula 3 Euro Series Season.
Bianchi continued in the F3 Euroseries in 2009. He led the ART’s line-up along with rookie teammates.
Bianchi sealed the title with a round to spare, at Dijon-Prenois, with eight wins. Additionally, He then added a ninth win in the final round at Hockenheim.
5. He Suffered one of the First Accidents of his Career during GP2 Season
Bianchi completed three out of four rounds of the GP2 Asia championship. This after he drove for ART in the subsequent GP2 Asia season. Moreover, during the 2010 GP2 season.
In the main series, Bianchi took two pole positions. Furthermore, several points position.
Unfortunately, he was injured in a first-lap crash at the Hungaroring. Bianchi spun into the path of the field exiting the first corner. He was struck head-on by Ho-Pin Tung. He sustained a fractured second lumbar vertebra in the process.
Interestingly, Bianchi was fourth in the drivers’ championship at the time of his injury. Despite the injury, he recovered to take part in the next round of the championship.
6. He had a Moderately Successful Season of the 2011 GP2 Asia Series
2011, Bianchi partnered up with Esteban Gutiérrez, the 2010 GP3 Series champion, and went on to have a moderately successful season.
He starred in the first two rounds of the 2011 GP2 Asia Series. He gained fourth in the sprint race. However, he was later penalised. Additionally, in the main series, Bianchi finished third in the championship
7. He entered Formula One as a practice driver
BBC linked Bianchi to the second Ferrari Formula One seat in August 2009. He tested for Ferrari at the young drivers’ test at Circuito de Jerez.
Bianchi’s performance in this test led to him becoming the first recruit of the Ferrari Driver Academy. Furthermore, he sighed a long-term deal to remain at the team’s disposal.
Interestingly, Bianchi was confirmed by the Ferrari ad team’s test and reserve drive. This was for the 2011 season. On 13 September 2011, Bianchi tested for Ferrari at Fiorano, as part of the Ferrari Driver Academy.
Bianchi completed 70 laps and recorded the quickest lap time of 1:00.213Ferrari loaned him to the Sahara Force India team for the 2012 season.
8. He Made his Debut Driving for Marussia in 2013

Bianchi made his debut driving for Marussia in 2013. He finished 15th in his opening rave in Australia. Furthermore, he ended the season in 19tu position without having scored any points.
However, his best result that year was 13th at the Malaysian Grand Prix. In October 2013, the team confirmed that he would drive for the team the following season. In the 2014 season, he scored both his and the Marussia team’s first points in Formula One at the Monaco Grand Prix.
9. He had a Fatal Accident During the Japanese Grand Prix
On 5 October 2014, Bianchi lost control of his Marussia in very wet conditions. He collided with a recovery vehicle. This was during the Japanese Grand Prix.
Bianchi suffered a diffuse axonal injury. He underwent emergency surgery and was placed into an induced coma. Unfortunately, he remained comatose until his death on 17 July 2015.
In their official statement, Bianchi’s family said;
“It is with deep sadness that the parents of Jules Bianchi, Philippe and Christine, his brother Tom and sister Mélanie, wish to make it known that Jules passed away last night at the Centre Hospitalier Universitaire in Nice. Jules fought to the end, as he has always done, but yesterday his battle ended. We feel immense and indescribable pain.”
10. A Foundation was Created for Bianchi’s Honour
In December 2015, Bianchi’s father announced his plan to create a foundation in his son’s honour. The aim of creating the foundation was to uncover and nature young drivers.
The foundation exhibits Jules Bianchi’s memorabilia. This includes go-karts and single-seaters to personal pictures and videos. The foundation is based in Monaco.
