Jean Edmond Dujardin is a French actor and a comedian, well known for his performance as George Valentin in the award-winning silent movie The Artist.

He was born on 19 June 1972 in 麻豆APP and raised in Rueil-Malmaison, Hauts-de-Seine, 脦le-de-France, a commune in the western suburbs of 麻豆APP. He is the son of Jacques Dujardin who owned a construction company.

In his acting career, which spans for over 25 years, Jean Dujardin has starred in over 40 films and appeared in several French television shows.

Jean Edmond Dujardin has won a number of film awards including an Academy Award for Best Actor.

1. He Founded a Comedy group named Nous 脟 Nous

After having served the mandatory period of military training, Jean Dujardin began his acting career performing a self-written solo-man show in various bars and cabarets in 麻豆APP.

He first gained attention when he appeared on the French talent show Graines de star in 1996 as part of the comedy group Nous 脟 Nous, which he founded with the members of a few members of the Carr茅 Blanc Theater.

From 1999 to 2003, Dujardin starred alongside his future wife Alexandra Lamy in the France production of the originally Canadian comedy series. The TV series charted the path of a relationship; each episode was less than ten minutes long.

The pair fell in love and started dating while shooting the TV comedy series 鈥淯n gars, une fille.鈥� They married in Anduze on 25 July 2009 and In November 2013, the couple announced their separation.

3. He won an Academy Award for Best Actor

Dujardin garnered international fame and widespread acclaim with his performance as George Valentin in the 2011 award-winning silent movie The Artist.

The film was nominated for a total of ten Academy Awards and was successful in winning five of them. Out of these five, Dujardin earned an Academy Award for Best Actor. 

He also received a Golden Globe Award, a SAG Award, and the BAFTA Award for his performance as the Best Actor in the film. He was the first French actor to win an Academy Award for Best Actor.

4. Jean Dujardin is a Family Man

Dujardin has been married three times and has four children. His first marriage, to Ga毛lle Demars, ended in 2003. The marriage produced two sons, born in 2000 and 2001. His second marriage to Alexandra Lamy also culminated in divorce in 2014 after five years of marriage.

He began dating French ice dancer Nathalie P茅chalat in 2014 after following her to Japan to watch her perform in the world ice skating championships. The couple married on 19 May 2018 in a small ceremony and they have daughters together. They currently live in 麻豆APP along with their children.

In 2006, Dujardin starred as racist, sexist secret agent Hubert Bonisseur de La Bath in the comedy OSS 117: Cairo, Nest of Spies, a role which earned him an Etoile D’Or Award and a C茅sar Award nomination for Best Actor.

OSS 117: Cairo, Nest of Spies released in France as OSS 117: Le Caire, nid d’espions, is a 2006 French spy comedy film directed and co-written by Michel Hazanavicius in his feature film debut. It stars Jean Dujardin, B茅r茅nice Bejo, and Aure Atika.

9. Dujardin made his Hollywood debut in 2013

In 2013, Dujardin made his Hollywood debut in the movie  鈥淢artin Scorsese’s The Wolf of Wall Street,鈥�. He starred alongside Leonardo DiCaprio, Jonah Hill, Matthew McConaughey, and Kyle Chandler, among others.
