Alexa Davalos is an American actress. She has acted in several films. Her early role was Gwen Raiden on the fourth season of the TV series Angel (2002鈥�03). She is also an actress in some Hollywood films such as The Chronicles of Riddick (2004), Feast of Love (2007), The Mist (2007), Defiance (2008) and Clash of the Titans (2010).

1. Born into a family of performers

Davalos was born in 麻豆APP, France to American parents, photographer Jeff Dunas and actress Elyssa Davalos. Her grandfather Richard Davalos starred alongside James Dean in East of Eden.

She is of Spanish and Finnish descent on her mother鈥檚 side. Her father鈥檚 family is Jewish since her paternal ancestors lived in Vilnius in Lithuania. She was raised 鈥渨ithout much religion鈥�, though she attended Hebrew school for a time.

2. She Spent most of her childhood in France and Italy

Davalos spent most of her childhood in France and Italy, before settling in New York. However, her parents are from the United States.

As a result, she is fluent in both English and French. She stated that 鈥淚 tend to curse in French more often than I do in English.鈥�

However, at the age of seventeen, Davalos struck out on her own and moved to New York City.

3. She supported herself by modelling for photographers

After moving to Ney York City, her first career was modelling. She supported herself by modelling for photographers like Peter Lindbergh.

However, she had a passion for acting. 鈥淚 had a mission,鈥� she stated. 鈥淚 wanted to be out in the world, doing my own thing. Working in a theatre, I discovered that I wanted to act.鈥�

To nature her passion she attended the Off-Broadway Flea Theater in New York.

4. She kept her acting plans from her family until her career started to take off

Davalos said it was not her family鈥檚 desire to join acting thus she kept it private until her debut. Alexa said she could not resist joining the family profession.

In 2002, Davalos co-starred with Charlie Hofheimer in the short film The Ghost of F.Scott Fitzgerald. The film was screened at the 2002 Toronto International Film Festival.

Alexa made her feature film debut in 2004 starring in The Chronicles of Riddick as Jack/Kyra. Davalos also appeared as the superhuman Gwen Raiden in three episodes of the TV show Angel.

 In 2005, she co-starred in the Fox show Reunion. In 2007, Alexa was featured in the romantic drama Feast of Love.

In 2008, Davalos co-starred as the love interest of Daniel Craig in the war film Defiance. She played Andromeda in the remake of Clash of the Titans.
