Djibril Cisse is a popular French former professional footballer who was born on 12th August 1981 in Arles, France. He was born to Ivorian parents in France and he has Guinean descent. His father, Mangue was a well-known professional player who captained his country before moving to France.

Djibril Cisse was the last born of a family of seven children including Abou, Fode, Seni, N’ma, Damaye, and Hamed.

He began pursuing his career when he was the age of eight at AC Arles in 1989. He signed his first schoolboy contract with AC Arles and it was a major step toward his football career. After seven years of playing for the AC Arles, he left for Nimes to have a better experience.

Djibril Cisse graduated to become the first team of a club in 1998. He married Jude Littler on 25th June 2005 who was a former Welsh hairdresser.

He became the Lord of the Manor of Frodsham after moving to Liverpool where he purchased a manor house.

Djibril Cisse became the top scorer for Ligue 1 during the 2001 – 2001 season. During the season, he played for Auxerre and he participated in over 29 matches where he scored 22 goals.

He helped his team to secure the third position in the Champions League. During the next season, he managed to become the fourth top scorer.

In the season between 2003 and 2004, he won his second golden boot and it was his best season as he scored the most goals. He scored about 90 goals in his career in Auxerre in about 168 matches.

8. He Initially Retired and Returned to Football

It is surprising that Djibril Cisse first retired in 2015 at the age of 34 after a hip injury but later returned. After coming back from his retirement, he immediately began to train with his boyhood club, Auxerre.

During his one-year spell, he was able to net about 24 goals and became the League’s top scorer but his team however failed to be promoted.

Djibril Cisse has participated in several World Youth Championships especially when he was first called up in the Under 19 France in 2001. He managed to score a hat trick against Iran and his team secures a win of 5-0.

He played for the U-21 for the France team during the UEFA European Championship and scored two significant goals.

Djibril Cisse was involved in a sex tape scandal in 2017 where he was accused of sex tape blackmail. The blackmail was against his fellow player named Valbuena. He was however so confident that he was never involved in the act.
