She originally wanted to be a pianist and an artist, and spent ten years studying at the French arts school Conservatoire de Â鶹APP. However, her appearance drew the attention of a modeling agent, and it was a natural progression to acting lessons and auditions.

Marlohe took matters into her own hands after her agent was unable to get her TV auditions, tracking down anyone she could find with a connection to the project and sending her show reel to them.

Instead, she did the business of a manager and an agent herself. Marlohe auditioned thrice for the role in Skyfall, the last of which was with Craig. It takes years of hard work to get that chance. She’s a stickler for detail. So, until the very last second, she spent every second preparing for that final audition.

It was a once-in-a-lifetime chance to be a part of one of the world’s most illustrious film franchises, which Marlohe adored since she was a child.

Her friend told her they were looking for a Bond girl. So she spent two days in front of her computer trying to find anyone involved with the film. Eventually, she found the casting agent’s Facebook account and sent her reel to everyone she could find!

Marlohe’s reel eventually wound up in the hands of Debbie McWilliams, the ‘Skyfall’ casting director, who passed it along to director Sam Mendes after a lot of random e-mails and a little bit of cyber-stalking. Hundreds of girls auditioned for the role, but it was Marlohe, a French actress with no Hollywood connections and little experience in her home country, who ended up testing alongside Daniel Craig and others.

But, believe it or not, Marlohe’s path was not without difficulty. She wasn’t getting the roles she wanted in France, the actress relocated to Hollywood with no money, no friends, no agent, no publicist-nothing!

Marlohe, whose sultry appearance is reminiscent of the legendary Italian beauty Claudia Cardinale, struggled to find work since her debut as an actress. She was told time and again that she lacked the talent to become a movie star.

She would be told that she’s too tall in comparison to the actors, which is bad for her, or she had too much personality. Although the producers and director of a film liked her work, they felt Marlohe had too much presence in comparison to the main actress, which was deemed unacceptable to the point where she could not be hired.
