I love London’s city bikes – the Santander bikes, the Boris bikes, whatever you call them. Compared to other cities, the London bikes are everywhere, every station has both bikes available and empty slots to park, the bikes are comfortable, and Londoners are incredibly respectful of their bikes. What a wonderful system. It beats any other city bike network I’ve tried. Plus London is remarkably flat, that tops it. Sure, it would be nice if cyclist critical mass were a little higher but still darn good overall.

While looking for our bus stop we ended up running into a sea of Santa’s riding for a children’s charity! – by Sincerely Media –
So you will wonder. What will this fellow (that’s me) find not to like about the London bikes then? It’s really simple. It’s the new subscription plan. Till last month, you could rent a bike for 24 hours, with one flat fee. Now you are required to pay for every ride. And the price is as high as a Tube ride. But why?! Who came up with that genius of an idea? Why not let me use my bike twice? Why are you letting your bike system price itself out of its market?
As they say in London, no entiendo, je ne comprends pas…
