Sean Anders directed “Spirited” is absolutely the new “Go-To” Holiday Season/Christmas movie. Starring Ryan Reynolds, Will Ferrell (who I absolutely loathed in the movie Elf – talk about chewing the scenery) and, the always wonderful Octavia Spencer. A full-blown, over-the-top (I mean this as a huge compliment) musical version of Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol” the movie takes the darkness scenes of that novel to new comic heights! Visually rich cinematography and fast-paced direction/editing make this a true pleasure to watch/enjoy.

Chloe Arnold’s choreography is nothing short of brilliant. Fabulous to see the dancers doing the extremely difficult Fred Astaire turns with such ease and grace. And who knew that Ryan and Will could tap and sing becoming a 2022 version of the most accomplished song and dance men from the Golden Age of Musicals?

5 glittering, sparkling, shining stars for this early holiday gift. Don’t miss it!
