Sidney Patrick Crosby is a Canadian professional ice hockey center player and captain of the Pittsburgh Penguins of the National Hockey League.
He was born on 7th August 1987 in IWK Health Centre, Halifax, Canada. He was selected first overall by the Penguins in the 2005 NHL entry draft.
Crosby is widely regarded as one of the greatest ice hockey players of all time.

Sidney Crosby donates 100000 meals through Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank. Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank is a non-profit organization that distributes more than 35.5 million meals annually across eleven counties in Southwestern Pennsylvania through a network of agencies, partners, and programs.
The food bank was founded in 1980 and is a member of Feeding America.
2. He became a brand ambassador at a young age
When Sidney Crosby was only five years old he posed for the photograph that would become Tim Hortons’ most powerful marketing tool. He wore big blue and red gloves, holding them close together as he gripped a wooden stick.
The company’s name was written across the chest of his yellow hockey sweater. The photo was printed on a novelty card Crosby received for participating in the Timbits minor hockey program.

Pittsburgh Penguin center Sidney Crosby was named the top sports figure in a Time.com survey on the most influential people of the year.
Crosby finished in a seven-way tie for second place overall with 85835, the eighth-highest total in the survey.
Time.com asked readers to submit their selections for the magazine’s most influential people of the year, offering more than 200 candidates and having readers rate the individual’s influence on a scale of 1 to 100. Crosby’s rating was 76. This made him appear among the most 100 influential people.
5. He is the youngest player in NHL history to reach 100 points
When he was 18 years and 253 days, he was the youngest player to date to reach 100 points in an NHL season. By his second season, he led the NHL by 120 points to capture the Art Ross trophy, becoming the youngest player and the only teenager to win a scoring title in any major North American sports league.
In the year 2005, Crosby surpassed Tamba Bay’s Vincent Lecavalier for ten months when he was named Lightning captain in march 2000, for the distinction of youngest captain.
