Elisha Ann Cuthbert is a famous Canadian television show and Hollywood film actress and model. She is wee known for her role as Kim Bauer in the American action-thriller television series 24.

1. She was a Girl Guide 

Elisha was born in Calgary, Alberta, on 30th November 1982. Her parents are Kevin and Patricia Cuthbert. She grew up at Greenfield Park in Quebec and has a brother, Jonathan, and a sister, Lee-Ann.  

When she was a young girl, she joined and became a member of the Girl Guides movement of Canada. Elisha participated in girl guide programs that emphasize the outdoors, character-building, good citizenship, and self-reliance. 

At nine years, she was already modeling children’s clothes and even went on to become a foot model. She started acting at 11 years old and relocated to Los Angeles at 17 years to continue pursuing her acting career.

At 16 years, Cuthbert co-hosted an award-winning educational TV show that was based on the famous magazine “Popular Mechanics for Kids.” The show was the best educational show in the world at the time and it sparked the interest of the then-first lady Hillary Clinton.  

Cuthbert was invited to the white house where she and the first lady talked about salmonella. Clinton wanted that topic discussed on the show so that people in America would stop getting sick from eating meat that wasn’t properly cooked. 

All Cuthbert wanted to do during the visit was meet the president’s cat. She says meeting Hillary Clinton at the White House is a memory that she treasures.  

The show did a segment about salmonella honoring the first lady’s request. 

3. She Broke Her Engagement to a Longtime Boyfriend

In June 2004, Elisha Cuthbert got engaged to longtime boyfriend Trace Ayala, best friend, and business partner to Justin Timberlake.  

They broke off the engagement in November 2005 after Cuthbert allegedly cheated on Ayala with Sean Avery. Two years later, Cuthbert and Avery broke up and she went on to date her current husband ice hockey player Dion Phaneuf.

Elisha is a mother and a wife. She is married to Dion Phaneuf, a Canadian and former professional ice hockey player. They started dating in 2008 and announced their engagement in September 2012. 

The lovebirds got married in a church ceremony in Summerfield, Prince Edward Island, on 6th July 2013.  They have two children.  

The first born is a daughter born in 2017 and the second is a son born in 2022. They have managed to keep their children private away from public scrutiny.   

5. She Loves Travelling 

Cuthbert loves to travel and discover new places. Her professional career and personal life have her traveling all the time locally and abroad over the years.  

To her, going on trips is enjoyable and memorable. She has been to many places around the world including Europe. She has been to cities such as Spain and Italy where she shared several photos of her travel destinations on Instagram. 

She splits her time between Toronto and Los Angeles on most weekends.   

6. She’s Aero Phobic 

Despite frequent travel due to work and personal life, Cuthbert is terrified of flying. Her fear of flying is so bad that she gets panic attacks every time she boards a plane.  

To try and overcome this, she devised coping mechanisms to help her through the flight. To reduce her anxiety, she calls her mother before every flight, but if her mother does not pick up her calls, she cancels the flight.  

Another thing she does is get on the plane with her right foot first. She takes this very seriously so she stops to adjust her steps.
