Ivan Baranchyk is a Belarusian professional lightweight boxer. He held the IBF Light Welterweight title from 2018 to 2019. Additionally, he was ranked by a leading  American boxing magazine, The Ring as the world’s fourth best active light welterweight in 2020.

Ivan Baranchyk was born in Amursk, Russia. His birthdate is January 24th, 1993. He is a Belarusian by nationality. He made a successful career out of boxing at a young age and has broken world records and attained many achievements.
 
He has always been interested in sports and wanted to be part of it. He first started with jiu-jitsu before venturing into boxing introduced by a friend while only six years.
 
Jiu-jitsu is a self-defense sport of combat nature that makes use of martial art. Participants are involved in grappling, ground fighting and submission holds. Baranchyk gave the sport a chance and by the time he was about 12 years, boxing become his favorite. 

2. Ivan Baranchyk’s win against Anthony Yigit was a world record 

Ivan broke the world record winning about 18-0 which assured his position in season 2 of the World Boxing Super Series. He was fighting Swedish professional boxer Anthony Yigit. He defeated Yigit during the opening via seventh-round corner retirement. Subsequently going on to win the vacant IBF light welterweight title.

The World Boxing Super Series semi-final on May 2019 opened the chapter of losing for Ivan Baranchyk. Moreover, it was his first professional defeat. He lost to Scottish professional boxer Josh Taylor via unanimous decision in the match held in Scotland.
 
He later regained his title from the loss against Tylor. He managed a fourth-round technical knockout against Gabriel Bracero on 5 October 2019.

Ivan decided to move to America with his wife and child. In his narration, it was because of the better opportunity to grow his career in America than in Belarus.
 
Furthermore, he admitted that he liked the Miami environment and people. On top of that, he argued that in Belarus he didn’t have a good coach but was able to get a good coach in America. He hopes to stay in America forever. 

10. He was born in Russia but raised in Belarus

Ivan was born in Russia. His parents decided to relocate to Belarus when he was only 8 months old. Belarus was where his father was born and raised. He spent most of his childhood in Belarus.
 
What’s more, he took part in his first amateur fight in Belarus. He considers Belarus his motherland. At the age of 21, he started receiving a lot of proposals all over the world but continued to play in Belarus.  This went on until his move to the U.S. came.
