1. Dilraba Dilmurat

Chinese actress Dilraba Dilmurat is a singer, and model who rose to fame with the popular Chinese TV series ‘Diamond Lover’. She studied acting at the Shanghai Theatre Academy, after which she embarked on an acting career with a debut in the TV series ‘Anarhan’. The series and her role as a titular character in it were a huge success, and she got many other parts to play over the years to come, including, ‘Legend of the Ancient Sword’, ‘The Backlight of Love’, and ‘Diamond Lover’.

 Check out one of her most popular films, ‘Mr. Pride vs. Miss Prejudice,’ which won her the Best New Actress award.

Dilraba Dilmurat studied at the Shanghai Theatre Academy. She knew that she wanted to become an actress early in her life. Her career began in 2013 with the TV series ‘Anarhan’, in which her lead role won her acclaim. The series was nominated for an ‘Outstanding TV Series’ at the Flying Goddess Award. With this achievement, she was quickly signed up by Jay Walk Studio.

Gong Li is a  Chinese-born actress, who has played a big role in taking Chinese cinema to greatness in the West. She graduated from the prestigious Central Academy of Drama in Beijing, and featured in films while completing her second year. She immediately got noticed for her excellent performance.

Gong Li was born in Shenyang, China on 31 December 1965. Her father was a professor of economics while her mother was a teacher.Ìý

As a child, Gong Li loved singing, dancing and acting, excelling in them from a young age.Ìý After being unable to get admission to any of China’s top music schools, she moved her attention to acting. In 1985, she was accepted by the Central Academy of Drama, in Beijing, graduating in 1989.

Gong Li is most popular for her role in the comedy-drama film, ‘The Story of Qui Ju’.Ìý

Gong Li married Singaporean tobacco tycoon Ooi Hoe Seong on 15 February 1996. Together, they moved to Singapore. In 2008, she gave up her Chinese citizenship to become a Singaporean citizen. The couple divorced on 28 June 2010.

In 2019, Gong married seventy-year-old French composer, Jean-Michel Jarre.

3. Liu Yifei

Liu Yifei, born as An Feng and widely known as Crystal Liu, is a Chinese model, actress and singer. She is popular for being one of the most beautiful actresses in China. She has featured in several TV programs and movies.

Liu Yifei made her acting debut in 2003 in the TV series ‘The Story of a Noble Family’. She also acted in the following;

Series: Demi-Gods and Semi-Devils, and  The Return of the Condor Heroes.

Movies:  ‘Love of May’, ‘The Love Winner’, ‘Chinese Paladin’, and  ‘Doukou Nianhua’.

Liu Yifei was born on 25 August 1987, in Wuhan, Hubei, China, as the only daughter of An Shaokang and Liu Xiaoli. Her parents separated when she was ten, after which she was raised by her mother. Yifei went to the Performance Institute of Beijing Film Academy and graduated from there in 2006.

4. Fan Bingbing

Fan Bingbing is one of China’s highest-paid and influential actresses. She rose to fame through television series My Fair Princess, produced in Taiwan.Ìý

She was ranked first on the ‘50 Most Beautiful People in China’ and topped the ‘Forbes Chine Celebrity List’.Ìý Her debut studio album, ‘Just Begun’, was a super hit in China.Ìý

Fan Bingbing was born on 16 September 1981 in China to Fan Tao and Zhang Chuanmei.Ìý After finishing high school, she received a degree from Shanghai Xie Jin Film and Television Arts College and continued on to learn theatre from Shanghai Theatre Academy. She was interested in acting and started with minor roles at the age of 16.

Her first major acting role came in 1999 when she acted in the Chinese television serial ‘My Fair Princess’. It earned positive reviews and Fan started drawing the attention of the Media. She signed an eight-year contract with the company producing the series but later cancelled the contract as it meant travelling to Taiwan very often.

Fun Fact: Fan wore a ‘Dragon Robe’ for the 63rd Cannes Film Festival that she designed alongside the famous designer Laurence Hsu. The dress was later purchased by the Madame Tussauds Museum at an auction. The money raised was donated to the ‘Heart Ali’ charity project. She is the co-founder of the project, which helps Tibetan children suffering from congenital heart disease.

5. Yang Mi

Yang Mi is an actress and singer from China. She is one of the most successful Chinese celebrities in recent time, deeply adored by her fans. Yang Mi began her acting career at the young age of four.

In 1990, director Jialin Chen offered her a role in the historical television series ‘Tang Ming Emperor’. In the series, she played the role of a young princess named Xianning.Ìý

Yang was born on 12th September 1986 in Xuananwu District, Beijing, China. Her mother was a housewife and her father was a police officer.

She graduated from the Beijing Xuanwu Experimental Primary School,  then joined the Beijing Film Academy’s Performance Institute.

In 1992, Yang acted the role of a beggar’s daughter in the martial arts comedy film ‘King of Beggars’. She played many other roles in the years to come, catapulting herself to fame.Ìý

Yang won the 17th Shanghai Television Most Popular Actress award for ‘Palace’. She even won the 26th China TV Golden Eagle Award for the most popular actress for her role in the ‘Beijing Love story’.

Fun Fact: Yang’s net worth is estimated to be about $15 million.

Yang Mi is happily married to Hong Kong actor and singer Hawick Lau. They got married in Bali, Indonesia on January 8, 2014. Together they a daughter baby was named Noemie Lau.
