Mustafizur Rahman was born on September 6, 1995. He is a Bangladeshi international cricketer. He specializes in left-arm fast-medium bowling.
Mustafizur made his international debut in an April 2015 Twenty20 International (T20I) against Pakistan. Later that year, against India and South Africa, he played his first One-Day International and Test match.
Mustafizur competed in the 2014 Under-19 Cricket World Cup prior to his international career. Mustafizur grew up in the small town of Satkhira in the Bangladeshi city of Khulna. He is the youngest of six children born to Abul Qasem Gazi and Mahmuda Khatun. His father is a die-hard cricket fan.

Mustafizur’s interest in cricket grew when he began practicing the game with his brother Mokhlesur Rahman 40 kilometers (25 miles) away from home every morning. This had an impact on his education because he occasionally missed school to play cricket.
Mokhlesur Rahman, Mustafizur’s elder brother, used to enter a team in a local cricket tournament in order to win a television set. Mustafizur and his brother used to hire players for the tournament. When Mustafizur played in that tournament, a batsman named Millon told his brother that he bowled well and that he would be called up for age-group cricket in Sathkira.
On 15 March 2019, he was about to enter the Al Noor mosque in Christchurch, New Zealand, with several members of the Bangladesh test team, when a terrorist attack began. The entire team was “deeply affected.” He later married on March 22nd. His brother hoped that marriage would help him “overcome the shock” of witnessing the New Zealand attack.

In an interview with ESPNCricinfo, Mustafizur revealed this intriguing story, saying, “I was always a left-hander, for everything.” My mother drove me to a location in the village. I couldn’t eat left-handed after returning from there, but everything else was.”

3. Sun risers Hyderabad selected Mustafizur in the 2016 IPL
He took 17 wickets in 16 matches during the tournament, which his team won. He was named “Emerging Player of the Tournament,” the first overseas player to do so. In the 2017 IPL auction, he was retained by the Sun risers Hyderabad in December 2016.
He was concerned about missing the first round of the tournament. In the 2018 IPL auction, he was purchased by the Mumbai Indians in January 2018. In the 2021 IPL auction, he was purchased by the Rajasthan Royals for INR 1.00 crore from his base price. Mustafizur idolizes Pakistani pacer Mohammad Aamer, who was once considered the team’s next Wasim Akram. He was unconcerned about Aamer’s involvement in the spot-fixing scandal, saying, “I just follow Mohammad Amir’s bowling.” His allegations of spot-fixing do not bother me.”
5. He was fined for collision with MS Dhoni

The collision between Dhoni and Mustafizur occurred during the first ODI between Bangladesh and India in 2015. It happened during India’s batting’s 25th over, when Dhoni was going for a single after playing the ball to mid-off and Mustafizur got in his way. Dhoni, who is known for his cool demeanor, was probably furious as he pushed Mustafizur out of his way with his forearm.
This was not the first time Mustafizur was involved in an incident of this nature. He was previously involved in a similar incident with Rohit Sharma. Dhoni was later fined 75% of his match fee, while Mustafizur was fined 50%.
6. He has suffered a toe and shoulder injury
Mustafizur was ruled out of an upcoming three-match T20I series against Afghanistan due to a toe injury on May 29, 2018.
Mustafizur was chosen for the Pakistan Super League by Lahore Qalandars. The BCB was hesitant to allow him to play there. The problem was resolved when Mustafizur suffered a shoulder injury in early 2016, preventing him from playing in the PSL.
7. Mustafizur was named to the One-Day International squad in 2015
India toured Bangladesh for one Test and three One Day Internationals in June 2015. Mustafizur was named to the One-Day International squad. He showed signs of his potential in his first match of the series, taking a five-wicket haul off 9.2 overs against India’s strong batting line-up.
Rahman took six more wickets in the second ODI. This enabled him to break the record for most wickets by a bowler in two ODIs, previously held by Zimbabwe’s Brian Vitori. He finished the last ODI with two wickets and made history by taking 13 wickets in three ODIs. The following month, Rahman took five wickets in three One-Day Internationals to help Bangladesh win the series against South Africa by a score of 2-1. He made his Test debut against South Africa in the same series, taking four wickets.
8. Mustafizur Rahman was in the 2022 Cricket World Cup

He was named in Bangladesh’s squad for the 2022 Cricket World Cup in April 2022. Mustafizur took his 100th ODI wicket on July 5, 2022, against Pakistan. He finished the tournament as Bangladesh’s leading wicket-taker, with twenty dismissals in eight matches. Following the World Cup, the International Cricket Council (ICC) designated Mustafizur as the squad’s rising star.
