You could save yourself the trouble of self navigating and join one of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/tour\/paris-walking-tours\/montmartre-tour\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span class=\"s2\">free guided walking tour<\/span><\/a>s that take place through the neighborhood, it is entirely doable on one\u2019s own. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The most logistically sound walking route begins at the foot of the mountain, outside the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/top10\/top-10-reasons-to-visit-the-moulin-rouge\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Moulin Rouge<\/a> (purple marker). If you\u2019re a fan of the film that came out in 2001, seeing the actual building in front of you is quite something. While the storyline of the Moulin Rouge movie may have been fictional, the venue and<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">&nbsp; <\/span>characters were all real.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Everyone who visits the Moulin Rouge after absorbing the worldwide propaganda has a different reaction. Some love it, others find it disappointing. It is also one of four garden cemeteries that were created in Â鶹APP in an attempt to make the city more sanitary and beautiful. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p6\"><span class=\"s1\">You\u2019ll roam many many tombs here, amongst quite corners where you can settle with a book or a friend. It is etched into tiles made of lava, making it virtually infallible to the outside world. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p6\"><span class=\"s1\">The piece is a commentary on the power of love and tolerance; a sign to remind one another to be just that. It could not have found a better home than in the city of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/top10\/top-10-reasons-to-love-montmartre\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">love<\/a> itself. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p6\"><span class=\"s1\">There are benches and a small children\u2019s play area in the square that houses the mural.
