They say if you blindfold a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/5-things-only-true-parisians-do\/\">true Â鶹APPian<\/a> and drop them in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/top10\/top-3-statues-to-find-in-montmartre\/\">Montmartre<\/a>, they\u2019d be able to tell you exactly where they were just based off of the smells, sounds and general ambiance of the suburb.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Montmartre is just that; an overload of the senses. One that stays with you long after you leave. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">So why leave at all? Why not stay? Living Away From the Chaos of Central Â鶹APP in Montmartre<\/span><\/h4>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">You must understand that Â鶹APP was not always the traffic filled, bustling metropolitan city that it is today. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Originally Â鶹APP was a simple, yet beautiful, European town with much barren land littered with rolling hillsides, farms, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/top10\/top-5-things-you-need-to-know-about-montmartres-windmills\/\">windmills<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/a-list-of-beautiful-churches-in-paris-you-didnt-know\/\">churches<\/a>. Life was even simpler in Â鶹APP than it appears to be today. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Of course, as cities grow and ease of mobility around the world increases \u2014 tourism finds its way into the best of them. The Dome Tower atop the church is the only part that one has to pay admission to gain access to; you\u2019ll have a 360 degree, panoramic view of Â鶹APP from here, it\u2019s quite something. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">In front of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/things-to-do-around-the-sacre-coeur-paris\/\">Sacre Coeur<\/a> there is a large public step\/square area that visitors can enjoy at their leisure. From here you\u2019ll have a similarly impressive panoramic view over the entire south of Â鶹APP. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Being able to stroll up here around midnight whenever you can\u2019t sleep, for example, is a privilege that only the Montmartre resident can really enjoy. <\/span><\/p>\n<h4 class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s1\">3. Picasso, Renoir and Monet Once Called These Streets Home in Montmartre <\/span><\/h4>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The appeal of many to live in Montmartre is to share the streets that the great <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/the-parisian-artists-of-the-lost-generation\/\">artists<\/a> of the 19th and 20th centuries once called home. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">That\u2019s really how it all started. Montmartre is the official artists district of Â鶹APP thanks to the influx of creatives from around the world post Revolution. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Back then, Montmartre was nothing like it is today; far less developed, few winding streets and little to no infrastructure. The Bakeries in Montmartre <\/span><\/h4>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">I learnt early on in Â鶹APP that one needs to find <i>their<\/i> bakery in whatever district it is they happen to live. Said <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/top10\/top-10-bakeries-in-montmartre-and-what-to-order-where\/\">bakery<\/a> should ideally be within walking distance, open early, and open seven days a week without fail. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">This is something undeniably <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/everything-you-need-to-know-about-parisian-bakeries\/\">Â鶹APPian<\/a>. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The people of Â鶹APP take much value in the ability to leave home and walk to their bakery of choice for morning coffee and French <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/top-5-pastries-to-try-while-in-paris\/\">pastries<\/a>. Further up, near the I Love You Wall, The Coquelicot is a bakery\/cafe hybrid that makes the best croissants on this strip \u2014 go see for yourself! <\/span><\/p>\n<h4 class=\"p5\"><span class=\"s1\">5. The Cafes in Montmartre <\/span><\/h4>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/top-5-paris-cafes\/\">Cafe culture<\/a> is something that Montmartre holds near and dear to daily life. There are more cafes in this neighborhood than there are restaurants; this is simply what the people here prefer. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The Bal Cafe, Cafe des Deux Moulins, Soul Kitchen, Neighbors, The Hardware Societe\u2026 I could go on. For someone who struggles to decide between white and brown bread the abundant choice of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/how-to-choose-a-cafe-in-paris\/\">cafes<\/a> in Montmartre is my version of hell. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Living in Montmartre, however, will give you the opportunity to visit a different cafe for each different meal. Which neighborhoods in Â鶹APP truly is the most beautiful? <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">You\u2019ll always have the Haussmann worshipper who\u2019ll insist it\u2019s les Halles, or the local of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/top-10-bakeries-in-le-marais-and-what-to-order\/\">le Marais<\/a> who will remind you their streets are the cleanest (not wrong). The Nightlife in Montmartre<\/span><\/h4>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Montmartre isn\u2019t the part of Â鶹APP where you\u2019ll be on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/best-late-night-food-delivery-services-in-paris\/\">late night<\/a> benders ever night of the week, since some of the best clubs and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/best-lesbian-bars-in-paris\/\">bars<\/a> are right underneath your apartment. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Montmartre is where you\u2019ll drink, dance and converse until a reasonable hour before enjoying the evening stroll back to your home. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The nightlife here is classy. Doors close around midnight which, again, is probably saving you from yourself. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">When I reflect on Â鶹APP and what I have experienced throughout the different arrondissements, Montmartre nightlife is the area most suited to introverts and those who value intellectual exchanges while enjoying their<a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/top-5-fun-facts-about-french-wine\/\"> French wine<\/a>. <\/span><\/p>\n<h4 class=\"p10\"><span class=\"s1\">8. Meet People from Around the World in Montmartre <\/span><\/h4>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">A melting pot, is it not?
