They were also among the only notable landmarks in existence during this time in Âé¶¹APP. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/top-5-fun-facts-about-van-gogh\/\">Van Gogh<\/a> and his brother, Theo, lived in an apartment located at 54 Rue Lepic. Hang Out on the Boulevard de Clichy in Montmartre <\/span><\/h4>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The Boulevard de Clichy played an important part in the life of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/top-5-fun-facts-about-van-gogh\/\">Van Gogh<\/a> while he was a resident of Montmartre. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The popular strip was a short walk away from the apartment that he and his brother were sharing, so naturally it became the most convenient hang out spot for the brothers. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">To give you an idea of the kind of scenes available on this street; this is the location of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/things-near-moulin-rouge\/\">Moulin Rouge cabaret<\/a> which opened a year after Van Gogh moved out of Montmartre. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Today most <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/tour\/paris-walking-tours\/montmartre-tour\/?utm_source=Blog\"><span class=\"s4\">free guided walking tour<\/span><\/a>s will begin on this street. Here he would meet with other aspiring artists in the area, including <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/top10\/top-5-fun-facts-about-picassos-studio\/\">Picasso<\/a> himself, to discuss techniques, opportunities and the inner workings of the Âé¶¹APP art world. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Today there is no more Caf\u00e9 du Tambourin, but there are many other new cafes, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/the-24-hour-bistros-of-paris\/\">bistros<\/a>, bars and cabarets along this same street that you can enjoy as Van Gogh surely would have had they all existed in 1886. <\/span><\/p>\n<h4 class=\"p8\"><span class=\"s1\">3. Visit rue Victor Mass\u00e9 in Montmartre <\/span><\/h4>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">At the bottom of the Montmartre hill there is a quiet road called rue Victor Mass\u00e9. When <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/top-5-fun-facts-about-van-gogh\/\">Van Gogh<\/a> lived here it was still called rue Laval, and this was where he and Theo shared their first <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/how-to-decorate-your-paris-apartment\/\">home in this arrondissement<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">You can walk down this street and past their old apartment to this day.
