Bakeries make for a quick \u201cin \u2019n out\u201d refreshment experience, here are ten of the best in the Montmartre area and exactly what you should order from each. <\/span><\/p>\n<h4><span class=\"s1\">1. Le Grenier a Pain in Montmartre <\/span><\/h4>\n<h6 class=\"p4\"><span class=\"s1\">38 rue des Abbesses<\/span><\/h6>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">This bakery is well known around the streets of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/top10\/how-to-choose-the-best-airbnb-in-montmartre\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Montmartre<\/a> as it is one of the only ones to have ever won best croissant and best baguette in Â鶹APP on two separate occasions. This occurred back in 2010 and 2015. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The bakery is near the lower end of the hill, about a two minute walk from the Abbesses <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/how-to-use-the-metro-in-paris\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">metro<\/a> stop. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><b>What to order: <\/b>Obviously the croissants and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/the-all-important-history-of-the-baguette\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">baguettes<\/a> are a safe bet, being award winners and all. Boulangerie Alexine in Montmartre <\/span><\/h4>\n<h6 class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s1\">40 Rue Lepic<\/span><\/h6>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Another Montmartre award winner situated just a short walk away from the last bakery, Alexine is the local favorite for baked goods in this arrondissement. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Their <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/the-best-baguettes-in-paris\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">baguettes<\/a> always place in the annual baguette competition held in Â鶹APP. Being an institution to this area, Alexine has not let fame affect the affordability of their menu. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><b>What to order: <\/b>Their vanilla diamond shortbread<\/span><\/p>\n<h4 class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s1\">3. Pain Pain in Montmartre <\/span><\/h4>\n<h6 class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s1\">88 Rue des Martyrs<\/span><\/h6>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Also two minutes from the Abbesses stop, Pain Pain is a charming little bakery that is almost always busy, which is a good sign when it comes to edible things in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/5-things-you-can-only-buy-in-paris\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Â鶹APP<\/a>. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">This was probably one of the best croissants I\u2019ve had sine living in this city, though this isn\u2019t even what brings me back to Pain Pain when in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/a-walk-in-montmartre\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Montmartre<\/a>. Les Petits Mitrons in Montmartre <\/span><\/h4>\n<h6 class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s1\">26 Rue Lepic<\/span><\/h6>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Les Petits Mitrons can be found close to the main entrance to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/top10\/5-historical-facts-about-the-cemetery-of-montmartre\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Montmartre Cemetery<\/a> near the western side of the hill. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">What makes this bakery so unique is that despite its success, all of the pastries and treats are made early every morning by the owners themselves. Everything is served warm and with a smile. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><b>What to order: <\/b>The chocolate pistachio pastry or any of the fruit tarts!<\/span><\/p>\n<h4 class=\"p8\"><span class=\"s1\">5. Gontran Cherrier in Montmartre<\/span><\/h4>\n<h6 class=\"p9\"><span class=\"s1\">22 Rue Caulaincourt<\/span><\/h6>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Further up the hill the Gontran Cherrier is the local spot to get fresh <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/a-guide-to-pains-aux-raisins-in-paris\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">bread<\/a> baked daily. Le Fournil du Village in Montmartre <\/span><\/h4>\n<h6 class=\"p4\"><span class=\"s1\">12 Place Jean Baptiste Clement<\/span><\/h6>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Just a stones throw from the<a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/top10\/10-things-to-do-at-the-place-du-tertre\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> Place du Tertre<\/a>, this bakery makes for the perfect little escape when it comes time for lunch in Montmartre. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Unlike other bakeries in this area, this one has ample seating space where you can properly enjoy a meal followed by a baked treat. I really enjoy the soup here, though I know this is not a very good reason to visit a specific bakery. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The outside of the store is particularly photogenic and looks like the bakery you\u2019d find in a Disney fairytale village. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><b>What to order: <\/b>Any of the baguettes <\/span><\/p>\n<h4 class=\"p8\"><span class=\"s1\">9. Coquelicot in Montmartre <\/span><\/h4>\n<h6 class=\"p10\"><span class=\"s1\">24 rue des Abbesses<\/span><\/h6>\n<p class=\"p11\"><span class=\"s1\">The Coquelicot is a bakery\/cafe hybrid that serves both fresh baked goodness and homestyle meals from their menu. This is one of the best places to find food near the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/top10\/10-interesting-facts-about-the-i-love-you-wall-in-montmartre\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">I Love You Wall<\/a> in Montmartre, you may also consider getting take aways and enjoying your eats by the wall instead. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p11\"><span class=\"s1\">If there is one thing I can sniff out a mile away it\u2019s almond croissants. My one true weakness.
