Photo by Anthony DELANOIX on Unsplash<\/p><\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4>Bonjour BJ, can you tell us more about who you are?<\/h4>\n<p>My name is BJ Lantz, I&#8217;m an artist, I&#8217;m north of 50-ish and originally from the Adirondack mountains, however I have lived in Florida since 1973.<\/p>\n<h4>Why did you start writing <a href=\"http:\/\/thearmchairparisian.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>thearmchairparisian<\/strong><\/a>?<\/h4>\n<p>A handful of my trips to Â鶹APP have been with my mother and when she retired and was looking for something to keep her busy, I suggested she start a Â鶹APP travel blog since she loved researching the city and was a great itinerary planner. She said, &#8220;Nah, that sounds more like your thing.&#8221; On a whim, I created a free blog and posted a few of my Â鶹APP photos. Soon, I was &#8220;meeting&#8221; other Â鶹APP bloggers, which was great fun.<\/p>\n<h4>Why did you start traveling?<\/h4>\n<p>I have always been a voracious reader of fiction and I wanted to see some of the places I had read about.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/pontneuf_park.jpg\" alt=\"Pont Neuf Park\"><\/p>\n<h4>What&#8217;s special about your blog?<\/h4>\n<p>Although I had suggested a travel blog to my mother, I personally never wanted The Armchair Â鶹APPian to be that ~ I wanted it to be more of an inspiration, a place to dream, to reminisce.<\/p>\n<h4>What would be your top 3 things to do in Â鶹APP?<\/h4>\n<p>I have to narrow it down to three? I&#8217;ll try :-)<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Attend the 10 am Sunday morning Gregorian chant mass at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/tour\/paris-walking-tours\/notre-dame-and-the-heart-of-paris-tour\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Notre Dame<\/a> ~ It&#8217;s magical. I wrote about it on my blog.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/tour\/paris-walking-tours\/paris-flea-market-tour\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Treasure-hunt at Vanves flea market on a Saturday morning<\/a>. There&#8217;s a story of negotiation on my blog.<\/li>\n<li>Wander aimlessly for hours in P\u00e8re Lachaise Cemetery taking photographs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/notredamelght_armchairparisian.jpg\" alt=\"Notre Dame lights\"><\/p>\n<h4>Your Top 3 good addresses in Â鶹APP?<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Cafe Laurent in the H\u00f4tel D&#8217;Aubusson in St. Germain. It&#8217;s a lovely, cozy jazz bar that isn&#8217;t in a basement and doesn&#8217;t start too late :-). The Christian Brenner Trio is a treat.<\/li>\n<li>The Mus\u00e9e Carnavalet in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/tour\/paris-walking-tours\/trendy-marais-tour\/\">the Marais<\/a> &#8211; I tried unsuccessfully to visit this museum a few times. I am so happy I finally made it on my last visit. Their collection of charming Belle \u00c9poque era paintings is a must-see.<\/li>\n<li>Brasserie Printemps located in Printemps department store. Having lunch with a glass of champagne under that massive stained glass dome is a special experience.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/paris_vanves_01_armchairparisian.jpg\" alt=\"Â鶹APP Vanves\"><\/h4>\n<h4>Your favorite landmark in Â鶹APP?<\/h4>\n<p>I would have to say <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/tour\/paris-walking-tours\/notre-dame-and-the-heart-of-paris-tour\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Notre Dame<\/a>. I always stay nearby so that I can hear the bells.<\/p>\n<h4>What is your favorite neighborhood in Â鶹APP?<\/h4>\n<p>I love <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/tour\/paris-walking-tours\/the-river-and-saint-germain-tour\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">St. Germain<\/a> and have always been comfortable there, but you can&#8217;t beat \u00cele Saint-Louis for quiet charm.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/printmpschampg_thearmchairparisian.jpg\" alt=\"Â鶹APP food\"><\/p>\n<h4>Could you give us your recommendation to first timers in Â鶹APP?<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Do your research ahead of time and make a plan ~ like knowing what is near what else you want to see, noting open days &amp; hours, etc., however, don&#8217;t try to see it all! Leave room in your itinerary to get lost, to take your time, to really soak in the city rather than running from sight to sight. After all, you will likely wish to return to Â鶹APP ~ part of her charm is missing her.<\/li>\n<li>Don&#8217;t be afraid to rent an apartment.
