Built with the gold collected from the Discoveries, it is an amazing monument constructed under a unique architectural style only found in Portugal. I always recommend visiting not just the church but the cloisters as well. It&#8217;s one of my favorite parts of our Bel\u00e9m tour, which you can learn more about <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/tour\/lisbon-walking-tours\/belem-tour\" target=\"_blank\"><b>here<\/b><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"Berardo Museum\" src=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/whattodoinlisboninbelem2.jpg\" alt=\"Berardo Museum\" \/><\/p>\n<h2>Berardo Museum<\/h2>\n<p>Our fourth tip of what to do in Bel\u00e9m in Lisbon is to visit the Berardo Museum at the CCB. The Berardo Collection hosts works of art from Andy Warhol to famous Portuguese artists such as Paula R\u00eago and Joana Vasconcelos. It is a private collection in display at the Cultural Center of Bel\u00e9m, fruit of an agreement between its owner (Berardo) and the Portuguese government. It is one of the few museums in Lisbon with free admission as Berardo wanted to give access to modern art for all Portuguese. This agreement is being renegotiated in 2016, so step in to visit it while you still can.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/whattodoinlisboninbelem3.jpg\" alt=\"Lunch at Darwin\" width=\"650\" \/><\/p>\n<h2>Lunch at Darwin<\/h2>\n<p>One suggestion few people will give you about what to do in Bel\u00e9m in Lisbon s to have a meal at Darwin. Darwin is the restaurant located at the Champalimaud Ceter for the Unknown, a research center that hosts international teams working in neurosciences and biology. Even though it&#8217;s a working place, the building itself is a fine example of modern architecture and Darwin has a balcony overlooking the Tagus river. A perfect setting for a perfect meal.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/darwin-cafe.jpg\" alt=\"darwin-cafe\" width=\"650\" height=\"362\" \/><\/p>\n<h2>Bel\u00e9m Tower<\/h2>\n<p>If you&#8217;re wondering what to visit in Bel\u00e9m in Lisbon, the iconic Tower of Bel\u00e9m (an international symbol of the city) is one of the monuments to visit.
