Many celebrities are buried in the <i><b>P\u00e8re Lachaise cemetery<\/i><\/b> and their graves are almost as famous as them! Nonetheless, things have changed. Today, there\u2019s a transparent fence which women continue to kiss instead. There are also lots of celebrities buried in this cemetery, especially French celebrities.<\/p>\n<p>The famous couple of philosophers, Jean-Paul Sartre and Simone de Beauvoir, rest in peace, as well as Baudelaire, the <i>cursed poet<\/i> (his grave is full of poems) and Charles Garnier, the Opera house architect. She\u2019s basically our Marilyn Monroe! Every day, some flowers are left on it, to pay tribute to one of the most awarded female singers in France.<\/p>\n<p>If you happen to go to the <i><b>Montmartre cemetery<\/i><\/b>, you will quickly realize that there are many cats wandering there. Well, it is actually their home. In the twentieth century, many cats were abandoned in the cemetery. Municipal services used to capture them and put them down until a few persons stood up and struggle for animals rights. Cats needed to be fed, treated and castrated. The &#8220;<i>L&#8217;\u00e9cole du chat<\/i>&#8220;, which means <i>cats school<\/i>, association was born. Since then, the association kind volunteers feed the cats that live in the <i><b>Montmartre cemetery<\/i><\/b> and take care of their well-being.
