So, with these great colors that fall offers, one of the best things to do in Barcelona in October<\/strong> is to go to one of our best parks in town, which is El Parc de la Ciutadella<\/i><\/strong>. It’s the biggest park in town and it’s placed in the city center. You can go there for a nice walk, for a picnic or to visit one of the attractions that it harbors such as the Zoo, the Parliament or the Botanic Garden.<\/p>\n

Visit the Monastery of Santa Mar\u00eda de Pedralbes<\/h4>\n

One of the best things to do in October in Barcelona is to visit the Monastery of Santa Mar\u00eda de Pedralbes<\/i><\/strong>. I love going there when fall is coming and everything has these warm colors.<\/p>\n

This long avenue used to be the theaters area in Barcelona in the beginning of the nineteenth century. There were hundreds of theaters and clubs and a vibrant nightlife for all kinds of people.<\/p>\n

Nowadays, most of them have gone but we still have a few and El Molino<\/i><\/strong> is there ready to amuse everyone with their cabaret and burlesque shows!<\/p>\n

One of my favorite places to go shopping in town is the Encants Market<\/i><\/strong>. This is one of the oldest flea markets in Europe and has been recently renovated.<\/p>\n

I loved it when it was in the old location but I like it even more now that is held in a very modern building. I think the contrast between the contemporary architecture and the old stuff that they sell there is very romantic. But… you definitely need to go there to understand!<\/p>\n

Celebrate the Castanyada<\/h4>\n

The Castanyada<\/i> is the chestnuts party! The locals celebrate the Castanyada<\/i> on the night of October, 3st! It is one of the traditional specialties during the All Saints celebrations. During these celebrations, the Catalans usually eat yams, roasted chestnuts, candied fruit and drink muscatel. You will find many street vendors selling roasted chestnuts! <\/p>\n
