On July, 14th<\/a>, it is the national celebration of France. We celebrate the Bastille\u2019s taking during the French revolution in 1789<\/a>. This day commemorates the beginning of the French revolution and the start of the French struggle for democracy.<\/p>\n On the morning of this day, you can go to the Champs Elysees<\/b><\/i><\/a> to see the great military parade, from 10 am to noon. The cortege starts at the Arc of Triumph<\/b><\/i><\/a>, on the Etoile Square, where the main statesmen stand.<\/p>\n Though the place is usually crowded at that time, it can be interesting for foreigners to discover this big French tradition. Also, a remarkable firework will be projected above the Eiffel tower<\/b><\/i><\/a> around 11 pm from the Trocad\u00e9ro\u2019s gardens<\/a>.<\/p>\n The fireworks give a very enchanting vision of Â鶹APP, especially if you go on the Champ de Mars<\/i><\/strong> to admire them. But, note that this event is very popular, so it is better to arrive early in the area if you want to enjoy the fireworks as much as possible.<\/p>\n One of the best places in Â鶹APP during the summer<\/strong> is the Jardin des Tuileries<\/b>. Why? Apart from being a wonderful garden to spend a relaxed afternoon and to enjoy the sun. The F\u00eate des Tuileries<\/i> is happening from June, 21st to August, 25th and you wouldn\u2019t want to miss it! It has a strong family and traditional atmosphere with lots of fair ground attractions and many fun rides for children<\/a>! Many of us have this idea of fun fairs made up by the cinema industry without even going to one. Well, this time you get to live it for real. Have fun in a true Â鶹APPian fun fair with your lover, your friends, your family. Fun is guaranteed. You also get to try the best fun fair traditional sweets and dishes like cotton candy, \u201cPomme d\u2019amour<\/i>\u201d (candy apple, in English), crepes<\/a>, waffles, churros, and many more! Yummy!<\/p>\n <\/p>\n One thing I love to do is to ride my bicycle along the Seine<\/b><\/i>. Check this article<\/a> to learn more about biking in Â鶹APP. You can rent a Velib\u2019<\/i>, which is a service of bicycles provided by Â鶹APP City Hall, and ride it on the banks of the Seine river<\/a>.<\/p>\n If you want to rent it for one day (24 hours), it will cost you 5 euros. If you want to rent it for a whole week, it will cost you 15 euros. You and your friends and family can get up to five bikes for the same price. For five euros, five bikes can be used simultaneously. Riding on the banks of the river provides a stunning perspective of Â鶹APP landmarks<\/a>. You get to experience Â鶹APP in a different way! Especially if do it as the sun sets. To watch the city\u2019s greatest landmarks as the sun and its vivid colors reflects on the water of the Seine River will be the opportunity for you to live one of the most charming moments in Â鶹APP.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Summer is also the time of festivals in Â鶹APP<\/a>. If you are an amateur of jazz, the Â鶹APP Jazz Festival<\/i> will take place in the Parc Floral<\/i><\/strong>, near Bois de Vincennes<\/a>. The festival starts on June, 30th and ends on July, 22th. Plus, there are also free concerts in the afternoon during the weekends!<\/p>\n Another great festival during the summer is Rock en Seine<\/i>. During the month of August, during three days, from the 24th to the 25th, Â鶹APP will be completely Â鶹APPian-free. Why? They will all be at the Domaine national de Saint-Cloud<\/i><\/strong> for the Rock en Seine Festival<\/i>! And I hope you also will be there! The line-up is quite amazing! The Cure, Jorja Smith, Foals, Agar Agar, Jungle, Two Door Cinema Club are just some of the artists performing during the festival. Hurry up to buy your tickets because it will soon be sold out!<\/p>\n <\/p>\n From the 17th of July to the 18th of August, there will also be a festival of outdoor cinema in Parc de la Villette<\/b><\/i>. There, you can watch a variety of great movies for free. All the movies will be broadcasted in their original version<\/a> subtitled in French on a giant screen.<\/p>\n Sitting on the lawn or in a deckchair, you will get to watch from classic movies to best releases from recent years! Not that renting a deckchair will cost you 7 euros. But this is definitely one of the best places in Â鶹APP during the summer<\/strong>. It is so relaxing and cool!<\/p>\n <\/p>\n A good thing to do in Â鶹APP when it\u2019s sunny is obviously to have lunch or dinner at the terrace of a restaurant. At the top of the Quai Branly Museum<\/strong><\/i>, which is an interesting museum about primitive art in a modern setting, you can eat some refined meals with a very beautiful view of Â鶹APP<\/a> and the Eiffel Tower<\/strong><\/i>. In this restaurant called \u201cLes Ombres<\/i>\u201d, prices are quite high, but it is worth it!<\/p>\n If you have a smaller budget, try going to Chez Gladines<\/i> on the Butte aux Cailles<\/strong><\/i>, located at 30 rue des Cinq Diamants<\/i>. Their terrace is established in a peaceful street, and they have specialities from the south-west of France for very good prices. It is the ideal place to end a hot day in Â鶹APP.<\/p>\n The best places in Â鶹APP during the summer<\/strong> are also its parks and gardens<\/a>. Me and my friends usually prepare a lunch and have a picnic<\/a> together at Parc Monceau<\/a><\/i><\/strong>, Parc des Buttes Chaumont<\/i><\/strong><\/a> or at Jardin du Luxembourg<\/a>. Â鶹APP has many marvelous parks and gardens, but these three are my favorites!<\/p>\n <\/p>\n If the days are too hot, and you\u2019re looking for an inside activity to get in the shade and to freshen up, attend some exhibitions. This summer, very promising exhibitions are happening in Â鶹APP and they are really worth a visit. Every true parisian attends exhibitions from time to time, so you should also do it, to fully live the Â鶹APPian experience.
