The city\u2019s thriving youth culture and huge student population have resulted in an infestation of vintage shops and thrift stores, cementing its reputation as one of the best cities in Europe for thrifting.<\/p>\n<p>The city plays host to regular weekend flea markets, abundant vintage boutiques, and a seemingly infinite amount of \u2018Humana\u2019 charity shops. One is spoiled for choice so be sure to leave some extra room in your suitcase. Given that there are a vast number of Humana shops in Barcelona, I have opted to recommend three of my favorite stores.<\/p>\n<h3>1. Humana Vintage, El Born<\/h3>\n<p>This particular store has two rooms, one that stocks standard second-hand clothing while the other stocks rare 1960s-style vintage garments. It offers a fabulous collection of knitted everything\u2026 from \u2018granny jumpers\u2019 to eccentric knitted bags to knitted t-shirts. It is a wonderfully bizarre haven for crotchet fanatics. There is also a great selection of floral dresses and long, floaty skirts.<\/p>\n<h6>Carrer del General \u00c1lvarez de Castro, 2, 08003 Barcelona<\/h6>\n<h3>2. Humana Vintage, Gracia<\/h3>\n<p>Gracia is one of Barcelona\u2019s trendiest neighborhoods. The people walking around Gracia tend to be very stylish, seemingly accidentally so, which is unsurprising given the numerous amount of concept stores and designer boutiques that constantly pop up in the area.<\/p>\n<p>As with any area on style steroids, the charity shops are always the best place to go to find bargain designer pieces. Head to the back of the store to rift through an exciting assortment of unique, vintage items.<\/p>\n<h6>Carrer d&#8217;Ast\u00faries, 41, 08012 Barcelona<\/h6>\n<h3>3. The journey here is part of the excitement, for those that enjoy the rummaging at least. There is a vintage section at the back of the store which usually stocks some distinctive pieces.<\/p>\n<h6>Ronda de la Universitat, 19, 08007 Barcelona<\/h6>\n<p>NB; Whatever you do, if you find yourself to be in Barcelona in the last week of the month, be sure to visit Humana stores as this is when they host their famous one euro sale before changing over the stock. It is a useful local trick.<\/p>\n<h3>4. The clothing is priced by weight, which can be used effectively to your advantage. It is the perfect place to purchase lightweight vintage items, such as summer dresses and silk tops.<\/p>\n<h6>Carrer de Ferlandina, 20, 08001 Barcelona, Carrer dels Tallers, 31, 08001 Barcelona<\/h6>\n<h3>5. Holala! Plaza<\/h3>\n<div id=\"attachment_23947\" style=\"width: 730px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-23947\" class=\"size-full wp-image-23947\" src=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/holala-plaza.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"720\" height=\"480\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/holala-plaza.jpg 720w, https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/holala-plaza-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 720px) 100vw, 720px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-23947\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Image sourced from Barcelona Connect<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Located in a gigantic warehouse in the Centre of Barcelona, &#8216;Holala vintage&#8217; has rightfully asserted its reputation as one of the city&#8217;s most charismatic vintage stores.<\/p>\n<p>The sheer quantity of garments that are on offer here means that it is unlikely, near impossible, to not find something to tantalize a customer\u2019s style taste buds. The shop&#8217;s interiors, old-school soundtrack, quirky homewares, and authentic vintage pieces make shopping here a mesmerizing experience.<\/p>\n<p>It is easy to get lost amongst the shops heaving racks for a few hours, slipping in and out of each era as you try on each outfit. The store has something for everyone, the classic, retro baseball jacket for the jock, a leather jacket ripped from the back of an original Harley Davidson motorcyclists for the biker chic and a bohemian sheepskin coat for the 1960s flower child.<\/p>\n<p>Despite the large size of the store, the clothes are impeccably curated having been carefully handpicked from around the world.<\/p>\n<h6>Carrer de Valldonzella, 2, 08001 Barcelona<\/h6>\n<h3>6. Trash Closet<\/h3>\n<p>There are two Trash Closets in the city, one is located in El Born and the other, in Raval. I would recommend visiting the Raval store as it usually has a more diverse collection of vintage clothes.<\/p>\n<p>Trash Closet is cheaper than most other boutique vintage shops in the city which makes it a great shop for those shoppers that crave the euphoric satisfaction of finding a cheap designer item amongst the store&#8217;s rubble of worn sweatshirts and tie-dye t-shirts.<\/p>\n<p>The two shops mostly sell second-hand clothes from brands such as Tommy Hilfiger, Ralph Lauren, North Face and sportswear brands like Nike and Adidas.<\/p>\n<h6>Pla\u00e7a de Sant Agust\u00ed Vell, 16, 08003 Barcelona<\/h6>\n<div data-gyg-widget=\"auto\" data-gyg-partner-id=\"Y7FSIRA\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<p><!-- GetYourGuide Analytics --><\/p>\n<p><script src=\"https:\/\/widget.getyourguide.com\/dist\/pa.umd.production.min.js\" async=\"\" defer=\"defer\" data-gyg-partner-id=\"Y7FSIRA\"><\/script><\/p>\n<h3>7. It offers a selection of white thrilly cotton tops, ethnic textiles and a shelf that displays a unique range of retro sunglasses.<\/p>\n<p>The store also has a collection of beautiful, statement jewelry. It is worth popping into if you find yourself in the area.<\/p>\n<h6>Carrer dels Tiradors, 1, 08003 Barcelona<\/h6>\n<h3>8. The ancient stone walls and high wooden beams create an enchanting setting in which one can spend hours getting lost amongst the treasures.<\/p>\n<p>The clothes are displayed exquisitely in antique cabinets and there are endless racks of vintage prom dresses, each one gleaming against the backdrop of the traditional architecture. The store has been decorated with a scattering of old-fashioned objects such as record players, typewriters and sewing machines.<\/p>\n<p>Vintage posters and ancient maps adorn the walls alongside an array of rusting musical instruments. Though the clothes are a little more pricey, it is worth paying a visit here if you wish to find something unique and elegant.<\/p>\n<h6>Carrer dels Flassaders, 42, 08003 Barcelona<\/h6>\n<h3>9. The stock here consists of the usual statement vintage pieces, Hawaiian shirts and Levi shorts, as well as some more unusual items such as hand-painted bowls, retro magazines and racks of kaleidoscopic waistcoats.<\/p>\n<h6>Carrer de les Ramelleres, 17, 08001 Barcelona<\/h6>\n<h3>10. La Principal<\/h3>\n<p>La Principal is an independent concept store that stocks vintage streetwear brands at reasonable prices. It is a small space with a well-curated collection of the 90s\/noughties branded clothes.<\/p>\n<p>It has a great selection of menswear, stocking t-shirts and sweatshirts from Fred Perry, Burberry, and Lacoste. The womenswear also consists of some funky finds such as fila tennis skirts and designer sunglasses. Be sure to check out the sale rack at the back of the store.<\/p>\n<h6>Carrer de Valldonzella, 52, 08001 Barcelona<\/h6>\n<h3>11.
