The Portuguese people much prefer sitting and watching someone else <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/2019\/05\/05\/top-5-fado-singers-of-all-time\/\">sing fad<\/a>o rather than having to take over the mic themselves. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">It seems that the appeal of karaoke was brought in by the tourists, and there is a small hub of bars offering the activity down in Cais do Sodr\u00e9 at the lowest most point of the city, on the Tagus . It\u2019s a sort of \u2018luck of the day\u2019 or \u2018right place, right time\u2019 kind of experience. In addition to Cais do Sodr\u00e9, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/2018\/03\/15\/what-to-do-in-lisbon-around-bairro-alto\/\">Bairro Alto<\/a> also embraces this hilarious activity. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Here\u2019s where you can venture to most evenings of the week for 15 minutes of fame. <\/span><\/p>\n<h4 class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s1\">Viking Bar in Lisbon<\/span><\/h4>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">On the pink street as promised, the Viking Bar is considered an institution in these parts. Where else in this part of Lisbon can you wander on into a bar at 5am and still receive full service?<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The Viking Bar is a \u2018take it or leave it\u2019 kind of place, you either love it or you hate it. Many dislike the fact that patrons are permitted to smoke inside, and that you\u2019ll leave smelling like a bit of an ashtray. Drinks are also slightly pricier compared to other bars in the area.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The vibe, however, is always light and always fun. A <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/tour\/type\/free-tours\/?town=lisbon-walking-tours\"><span class=\"s4\">free guided walking tour<\/span><\/a> through these very narrow, very historic streets is an absolute must for anyone wanting to properly experience the appeal of this city. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">There are many an Irish pub around Lisbon. The Irish are known for being a karaoke loving people, so these are usually reliable spots to head to when the craving sets in. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The Corner Irish Pub is the only one of its kind in this part of the city and draws in massive crowds on Saturdays and Wednesdays when karaoke takes place.
