Inaugurated in 1977, this polycultural space is the result of the vision of former French president Georges Pompidou.<\/p>\n<p>He wanted to create an institution to display France\u2019s impressive modern art collections, and in addition to being a museum the Centre Pompidou is also home to impressive temporary exhibits, a cafeteria, a cinema, and a public library where many Â鶹APPian students come to study.<\/p>\n<p>Fun fact: the Centre Pompidou owns the biggest modern art collection of Europe.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Centre Pompidou<br \/>\nPlace Georges Pompidou<br \/>\n75 004 Â鶹APP<\/strong><\/p>\n<h4><strong>2. Its most famous building was inaugurated very recently, on January 14<sup>th<\/sup>, 2015.<\/p>\n<p>The Philharmonie de Â鶹APP is famous for its original design: an all-aluminum hill covered in horizontal and vertical slabs.<\/p>\n<p>This very particular building was designed by the iconic French architect Jean Nouvel, assisted by Brigitte Metra.<\/p>\n<p>Jean Nouvel designed several of my favorite cultural buildings of Â鶹APP and even abroad, including the Mus\u00e9e du Quai Branly, the Institut du Monde Arabe, the Fondation Cartier and even the Louvre Abou Dabi.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Cit\u00e9 de la Musique \u2013 Philharmonie de Â鶹APP<br \/>\n221 avenue Jean Jaur\u00e8s<br \/>\n75\u00a0019 Â鶹APP<\/strong><\/p>\n<h4>3. Launched in 2006 as the art foundation of infamous LVMH group, the Fondation Louis Vuitton acts as an exhibition space that curates every year two or three star-exhibitions that have Â鶹APPians line up.<\/p>\n<p>Designed by superstar architect Frank Gehri (he also designed the iconic Bilbao Guggenheim Museum ), the impressive building is known for its humongous construction costs: initially planned to cost 100 billion \u20ac, the building ended up multiplying its initial cost by 8.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Fondation Louis Vuitton<br \/>\n8 Avenue du Mahatma Gandhi<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>75116 Â鶹APP<\/strong><\/p>\n<h4>4. Mus\u00e9e du Quai Branly<\/h4>\n<p>This Museum, which displays controversial arts and tools from Asia, Oceania, Africa and America, is famous for its fully vegetal front wall. The museum is the result from the vision of former president Jacques Chirac, and was designed by Jean Nouvel (same designer who created the plans for the Philharmonie).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Mus\u00e9e du Quai Branly<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>37 Quai Branly<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>75007 Â鶹APP<\/strong><\/p>\n<h4>5. This incredible steel sphere is located in the Parc de la Villette in the 19<sup>th<\/sup> arrondissement. I think it is also a great place to take breathtaking Instagram pictures if you are looking for an unusual shooting space in Â鶹APP.<\/p>\n<p><strong>La G\u00e9ode<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>26 Avenue Corentin Cariou<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>75019 Â鶹APP<\/strong><\/p>\n<h4>7. Les Halles<\/h4>\n<div id=\"attachment_11258\" style=\"width: 660px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-11258\" class=\"size-full wp-image-11258\" src=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/les-halles.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"650\" height=\"322\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/les-halles.jpg 650w, https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/les-halles-300x149.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/les-halles-610x302.jpg 610w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 650px) 100vw, 650px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-11258\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Les Halles &#8211; Source: Wikipedia<\/p><\/div>\n<p>One of the biggest stations in Europe, Ch\u00e2telet-les-Halles is much more than just a train and transit station: it hosts notably the most frequented cinema of Europe (UGC cin\u00e9 cit\u00e9 les Halles); a public pool; a mediatheque for film buffs; and a giant mall. Its architecture was thought through through its many changes, and it now constitutes an impressive multimodal complex that has shaped the entire neighborhood.<\/p>\n<h4>8. Immeuble la pointe Trigano<\/h4>\n<div id=\"attachment_21491\" style=\"width: 590px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-21491\" class=\"size-full wp-image-21491\" src=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/trigano-ta2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"580\" height=\"777\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/trigano-ta2.jpg 580w, https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/trigano-ta2-224x300.jpg 224w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 580px) 100vw, 580px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-21491\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Pointe de Trigano &#8211; Source: Trip Advisor<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Now this one is maybe more unusual than the other buildings I have listed, but it is definitely one of my favorite buildings in Â鶹APP. This fa\u00e7ade is known in the whole neighborhood for its uniqueness, and it now protected by the city of Â鶹APP. The building was initially a delicatessen; the owner wanted to have the most original fa\u00e7ade of the street, and it looks like he succeed! The fa\u00e7ade was created in the 1930\u2019s by Italian crafter Adigheri, using rare Italian technique sgraffito.<\/p>\n<p><strong>134 rue Mouffetard<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>75\u00a0005 Â鶹APP<\/strong><\/p>\n<h4>10. At the crossroads of rue Saint Honor\u00e9 and rue Croix des Petits-Champs, the building of the French Ministry of Culture and Communication was modernized by Francis Soller, who draped the austere and traditional building in a silver steel fishnet.<\/p>\n<p>The contrast between the construction and the other austere buildings of the street was widely debated; but I personally think that the building is insanely beautiful, particularly at dawn or golden hour when the sun hits it right.
