It is a rich dish that can be severely unpleasant if done wrong. It suffices for some as an entire meal, while others enjoy it as a starter. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">While in the French capital, trying a French onion soup for yourself is somewhat of a right of passage. If you\u2019re interested in sampling the traditional cuisine but aren\u2019t quite ready for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/top-10-weird-things-french-eat\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">snails or pancreas<\/a>, the soup it is! Rain or shine this restaurant is open continuously, seven days a week. The perfect spot to drop in when you\u2019re looking for a hot meal at 4am. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">As the name suggests, the menu is centered around pork and all things pig. The French onion soup is usually divine, though it seems there are occasions where certain shifted chefs can quite keep the recipe the same \u2014 sometimes it is a little too oily. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The luck of the day, I\u2019m afraid! Traditionally French and flamboyant, the red signage lights up the city streets in the suburb that surrounds it. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">While a full evening of dining here is recommended, restaurant staff are used to people dropping in for a quick bowl of soup between their day\u2019s excursions. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The brasserie is open from 7am until 1am daily so you can virtually enjoy soup here at any time. <\/span><\/p>\n<h4 class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s1\">Vavin in Â鶹APP<\/span><\/h4>\n<h6 class=\"p4\"><span class=\"s1\">18 Rue Vavin<\/span><\/h6>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Great selection of classic French meals, cozy environment and wonderful selection of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/top-5-fun-facts-about-french-wine\/\">wines<\/a>; what more could you ask for from a cafe in the 6th arrondissement. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">I thoroughly enjoyed the soup here. A simple, less dense recipe is used and you\u2019re not left with that heavy feeling afterward \u2014 <i>bien<\/i>!<\/span><\/p>\n<h4 class=\"p9\"><span class=\"s1\">Le Suffren in Â鶹APP<\/span><\/h4>\n<h6 class=\"p10\"><span class=\"s1\">84 Avenue de Suffren<\/span><\/h6>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">I like this restaurant because despite being so central to the<a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/things-to-do-around-the-eiffel-tower\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"> Eiffel Tower<\/a> it is never saturated with just tourists. Locals enjoy le Suffren too and it\u2019s wonderful to see such different groups of people mixing in a single space in this part of town. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Sometimes you finish a French onion soup and despite it having been satisfying, you\u2019re aware that asking for the cheese on the side would have been a good idea. If you\u2019ve had this dish anywhere else in the world you\u2019ll already be familiar with its somewhat inevitable heaviness. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The soup at Boucherie Rouliere is lightly salted with a perfect balance between the onions and the broth.
