That being said, I find that even in the depths of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/top-10-free-things-to-do-in-paris-in-winter\/\">winter<\/a>, a getaway is a getaway and the fresh air in this region of the country does wonders for the body &amp; soul. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Here is everything you can expect from a day trip to Deauville, leaving from the French capital. <\/span><\/p>\n<h4 class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s1\">Getting to Deauville from Â鶹APP<\/span><\/h4>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">To get from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/paris-off-the-beaten-track\/\">Â鶹APP<\/a> to Deauville one needs to catch a train; unless of course you\u2019ve decided to hire a car for the day, which is not a bad idea at all. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The only train service to Normandy departs from Gare Saint-Lazare in the 8th arrondissement of Â鶹APP. You can get to this central station via any of the regular metro lines that service the city of Â鶹APP . <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">All in all you can expect the journey to take roughly two hours. These usually depart around 7am from Â鶹APP and return around 10pm from Deauville. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">If you do end up extending your trip and booking a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/the-best-2-star-hotels-of-paris\/\">hotel<\/a> for the night there are ample trains throughout the next day to take you back to the city. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Deauville is small and a day trip here is more than enough time to grasp the true essence of the place. <\/span><\/p>\n<h4 class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s1\">What to do in Deauville near Â鶹APP<\/span><\/h4>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">So what brings so many out to the west coast of France? The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/the-most-beautiful-beaches-in-normandy\/\">seaside<\/a> of course. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">This is the closest beach town to Â鶹APP. It also happens to be one of the most renowned places to eat <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/seafood-restaurants-in-paris\/\">seafood<\/a> on the French coast, with over forty <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/the-5-best-african-restaurants-in-paris\/\">restaurants<\/a> in the small town specializing in this cuisine. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">As far as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/how-to-get-to-normandie-beaches-from-paris\/\">beaches<\/a> go, Deauville is beautiful. Sun, sand and cool waters make for a beautiful retreat. There are public umbrellas available in most areas but it doesn\u2019t hurt to bring your own along. The sand is soft and depending on the day of the week you may get lucky and have large portions of the beach to yourself, even in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/top-10-free-things-to-do-in-paris-in-summer\/\">summer<\/a>. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Weekends are when Deauville are at its busiest. People flock from the city and neighboring towns to enjoy the sunshine during their days off. <\/span><\/p>\n<h4 class=\"p7\"><span class=\"s1\">Other Attractions in Deauville near Â鶹APP<\/span><\/h4>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Deauville is close to a few other notable attractions in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/the-most-beautiful-beaches-in-normandy\/\">Normandy<\/a> area. Most famously, it is a 45 minute drive from the historic landing beaches that were used during the Second World War. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Every year in September the annual American <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/10-french-films-you-need-to-see\/\">Film<\/a> Festival takes place near Deauville. The same one, except for Asian films, takes place here in March. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The Deauville casino is the fourth largest one in France. The International Polo Championship is hosted in this part of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/france-and-reunion-island\/\">France<\/a>. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The one thing I enjoy most about visiting this part of the country is actually exploring by foot and being able to see all of the traditional Norman-style houses that make up the suburbs. You might need more than a day trip worth of time to fit both the beach and the town all into one. <\/span><\/p>\n<h4 class=\"p7\"><span class=\"s1\">Where to Eat in Deauville near Â鶹APP<\/span><\/h4>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">As mentioned, the restaurant scene in Deauville is a competitive one with most of the establishments specializing in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/where-to-eat-traditional-french-cuisine-in-paris\/\">traditional French cuisine<\/a> featuring an abundance of seafood options. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Michelin Star dining is easy to find in this part of the world. <em>L\u2019Essentiel<\/em> holds one of these stars and is near the water by the port of Deauville. In a twist of cultures, the restaurant serves up dishes of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/history-and-tradition-of-french-cheese\/\">French<\/a> and Korean fusion. They do a wonderful lunch special that involves a three course mean for \u20ac25 per person. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">For something sweet and\/or quick head over to <em>La Morny<\/em>, the local pizzeria and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/top-5-places-to-eat-crepes-in-paris\/\">cr\u00eaperie<\/a> hybrid of this town. This is a particularly great place to dine with children, but take note that they are closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. <\/span><\/p>\n<h4 class=\"p7\"><span class=\"s1\">Other Great Day Trips from Â鶹APP<\/span><\/h4>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Deauville is just one of the many coastline towns that Normandy has to offer. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Another astounding trip from Â鶹APP would be to the Mont Saint-Michel, a beautiful <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/top-10-most-beautiful-overlooked-french-castles-near-paris\/\">castle<\/a> near the Normandy mainland that is sometimes surrounded by water and sometimes by land \u2014 it all depends on the tides of the day. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">A popular day trip from Â鶹APP is to head through to the town of Giverny in Normandy.
