Despite not technically being part of the Med, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/the-best-of-cristiano-ronaldo-and-portugal\/\">Portugal<\/a> has followed suite with this trend and outdoor workout parks have popped up across the major cities. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">In <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/why-you-need-to-visit-the-carmo-convent-in-lisbon\/\">Lisbon<\/a>, the Portuguese climate permits more time for outdoor activities for more months of the year. Many of these parks, however, have seen the installation of varied gym equipment and exercise structures. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Public exercise facilities are an important asset to public health and city culture. Here is where you can take advantage of these communal assets around <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/best-beaches-in-lisbon\/\">Lisbon<\/a>. <\/span><\/p>\n<h4 class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s2\">Jardim Am\u00e1lia Rodrigues <\/span><span class=\"s1\">Outdoor Workout Park in Lisbon<\/span><\/h4>\n<h6 class=\"p4\"><span class=\"s1\">Alameda Cardeal Cerejeira, 1070-051 Lisboa<\/span><\/h6>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Somewhat north of Lisbon\u2019s city center there is a prominent public green space called Jardim Am\u00e1lia Rodrigues. It is one of the biggest public gardens in the city, making it an ideal spot for sportspeople of all types. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Just in front of this garden you\u2019ll find the Park Eduardo VII<a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/where-to-watch-the-sunset-in-lisbon\/\"> viewing deck,<\/a> which is technically a separate park of its own. Undoubtably one of the most overlooked yet highly &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/the-best-instagram-and-photography-spots-in-lisbon\/\">Instagrammable<\/a>&#8221; spots in Lisbon. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Back to Jardim Am\u00e1lia; this is a professional calisthenics park that has been curated by the city of Lisbon for this purpose. There are, however, a notable lack of trees and shaded spaces; in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/best-things-to-do-during-the-summer-in-lisbon\/\">summer<\/a>, the equipment in this park bakes in the sun and can make working out slightly less enjoyable. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">For this reason this outdoor workout park is preferred at sunset during the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/best-things-to-do-during-the-summer-in-lisbon\/\">summer<\/a> months. A beautiful spot from which to get your routine in while watching the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/where-to-watch-the-sunset-in-lisbon\/\">sun<\/a> go down over Lisbon. Get there early to ensure you find a place on one of the pieces of equipment. <\/span><\/p>\n<h4 class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s2\">Olivais Norte <\/span><span class=\"s1\">Outdoor Workout Park in Lisbon<\/span><\/h4>\n<h6 class=\"p6\"><span class=\"s1\">Rua Alferes Barrilaro Ruas 20, 1800-006 Lisboa<\/span><\/h6>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">This next park can be tricky to find so listen up. Despite being known amongst the athletes of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/a-visit-to-lisbons-oriental-museum\/\">Lisbon<\/a> as Olivias Norte Outdoor Workout Park, there is no documented use of this name. instead, the park can be accessed by simply going to the address given above. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Once you arrive you\u2019ll find it\u2019s not actually a park at all, rather just a paved and padded lot upon which public workout equipment has been installed. Of course, if you are a serious athlete, then this will suit you just fine. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The \u201cpark\u201d is situated far north in a neighborhood called Encarna\u00e7\u00e3o. Monkey bars, muscle bars, pull up bars, even a Swedish wall bar that can be used to practice climbing. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">This is a popular workout venue for locals of Lisbon who enjoy practicing parkour. The park is also suitable for bootcamp-style training should you want to make use of it in a big group.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">There\u2019s not much else to do in this neighborhood once you finish up. Conveniently there is a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/budget-food-and-drink-in-lisbon\/\">Richard\u2019s Pizzaria<\/a> right across the street \u2014 just saying. <\/span><\/p>\n<h4 class=\"p9\"><span class=\"s4\">Jardim do Torel <\/span><span class=\"s1\">Outdoor Workout Park in Lisbon<\/span><\/h4>\n<h6 class=\"p4\"><span class=\"s1\">R. J\u00falio de Andrade, 1150-122 Lisboa<\/span><\/h6>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">If you were to take a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/tour\/city\/paris-walking-tours\/\"><span class=\"s5\">free guided walking tour<\/span><\/a> a few blocks east of<a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/where-to-see-wildlife-in-lisbon\/\"> Lisbon\u2019s Botanical Gardens<\/a> you\u2019d eventually pass by this tiny, hidden gem of a park known as the Jardim do Torel. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">This neighborhood is built up into one of the hills of Lisbon, so the park naturally boasts views of the city scape and all of the rooftops that surround it. As you can imagine, this is beyond wonderful in the summer after a sweaty workout using the garden\u2019s miniature gym. Note that the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/best-beaches-in-lisbon\/\">swimming<\/a> pool is closed to the public during winter. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">These small yet effective outdoor workout facilities can be found at a few other locations around Lisbon.
