It is not by chance that this monument is so remarkable. 250 million people have visited the iron structure since its opening and over 7 million people visit it annually making this the most visited monument in Europe. Come meet our <i>Iron Lady<\/i>.<\/p>\n<p>The<a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/top-5-fun-facts-about-the-eiffel-tower\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> <b>Eiffel Tower<\/b><\/a> was built in 1888 by architect Gustave Eiffel and stands since the <i>Â鶹APP World Exhibition<\/i> in 1889. Once you are face to face with the most iconic monument of Â鶹APP, you will be impressed by its size and greatness, it even might bring tears to your eyes.<\/p>\n<p>The Eiffel Tower is 324 metres tall, 125 metres wide and weights over ten thousand tonnes! It has 1665 stairs. Climb them if you are brave enough. There are plenty of ways to get to the tower, but I will let you know the best ones!<\/p>\n<p>The easiest way to get to <strong><i>Eiffel Tower<\/i><\/strong> is obviously by taking the RER C train to <i>Champ de Mars\/Tour Eiffel<\/i> station but if I were you I would take one of the other options I&#8217;m about to share with you. Although it is the closest metro station to the tower, it usually is very crowded and since you may not be used to the Â鶹APPian public transports, you might get lost and confused.<\/p>\n<p>An alternative way is to get on the metro line 8 and take the exit at <i>Ecole Militaire<\/i> or the metro line 6 and take the exit at <i>Bir-Hakeim<\/i>. By taking this route, you will avoid having the trouble to wait for a direct metro to <i>Champ de Mars\/Tour Eiffel<\/i> and you will also be closer to the <strong><i>Champs de Mars<\/i><\/strong> gardens. You will be able to take a walk until you reach the <strong><i>Eiffel Tower<\/i><\/strong>, which in my opinion is one of the most beautiful ways to visit all the area around the Eiffel Tower.<\/p>\n<p>The option I prefer is to take the <i>Trocadero<\/i> metro exit on metro line 9 or 6 and from there visit the Trocad\u00e9ro first and then head to the Eiffel Tower. By doing this, you will also have the best view possible from afar of the <strong><i>Eiffel Tower<\/i><\/strong>, because the Trocad\u00e9ro is on higher ground than the Champs de Mars. This area is so frequented by tourists that it will nearly be impossible to get there by car. But if you really must do so, be prepared for long queues in traffic, taking about forty minutes or more to get to the <strong><i>Eiffel Tower<\/i><\/strong>, depending on where you are located in Â鶹APP.<\/p>\n<h3>Where is the Eiffel Tower Located?<\/h3>\n<p>The <strong><i>Eiffel Tower<\/i><\/strong> is located at the Champs de Mars on <i>Avenue Anatole 5<\/i> in the seventh arrondissement in Â鶹APP. There&#8217;s no way you will miss seeing this gigantic monument when you visit Â鶹APP!<\/p>\n<p>When you will be landing in Â鶹APP, you will see the <i>Iron Lady<\/i> from the airplane even on a cloudy day. <span class=\"ZwbPmb-text\">Located in the 7th arrondissement, the Tower sits beside the river Seine, the <\/span>Carousel of the Eiffel Tower and the Champ de Mars park.<\/p>\n<h3>1. Climb the Stairs and Learn about its History<\/h3>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/thingstodoaroundtheeiffeltower-4.jpg\" alt=\"thingstodoaroundtheeiffeltower\" width=\"650\" height=\"427\"><\/p>\n<p>Climb the stairs and reach the second floor! Wander around the center of the tower\u2019s metallic structure at your own pace and contemplate the fantastic iron piece of art and its history.<\/p>\n<p>Another thing to do in the <strong>Eiffel Tower<\/strong> would be of course a guided tour to learn everything about the most famous monument of Â鶹APP.<\/p>\n<p>Otherwise, you can stay a little while on the first floor to enjoy an overview of its history through different illustrations of the <i><strong>Eiffel Tower<\/strong><\/i> evolution, photographs, engravings, drawings, films and interactive activities.<\/p>\n<p>You don\u2019t want to miss the panoramic view from the second floor, with Â鶹APP at your feet. The Jardin du Trocadero provides an excellent perspective of the Eiffel Tower. It&#8217;s ideal for photographs with the Eiffel Tower in the background so don&#8217;t forget your camera.<\/p>\n<p>The iconic Warsaw fountains, with their 20 water cannons, provide a spectacular water display, especially on summer evenings when the illuminations around the fountains add to the allure. Sculptures to enjoy include gilded bronze animal statues and the two stone statues, &#8216;L&#8217;homme&#8217; by Pierre Traverse and &#8216;La Femme&#8217; by Daniel Bacqu\u00e9.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, there are many merchants in the area selling crepes, wine, pastries, and so on it&#8217;s also a great picnic spot!
