It stretches through most of the 1st and 4th arrondissements that make up the city center of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/right-bank-vs-left-bank-choose-your-favorite-paris\/\">Right Bank<\/a>. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The variety of things to do on this stretch of street make it a popular <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/top-5-non-touristy-restaurants-in-montmartre\/\">tourist<\/a> attraction for visitors to the city. This department store is owned by Galleries Lafayette and the layout &amp; merchandise are very similar, only the prices of things are notably more affordable. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Moving toward the 1st arrondissement from the Bazar you\u2019ll come into a more culturally stimulated block filled with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/livraria-bertrand-the-worlds-oldest-bookstore-in-lisbon\/\">bookstore<\/a> and galleries. Libraries Galigani is beautiful and calm; WHSmith is more mainstream and usually chaotic. <\/span><\/p>\n<h4 class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s1\">Buy Chocolate at Angelina on Rue de Rivoli<\/span><\/h4>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The Angelina <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/best-tea-salons-in-paris\/\">tea house<\/a> is somewhat of an institution to the elite groups of Â鶹APP. It was opened way back in 1903 by a chocolatier who named the store after his daughter in law. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Over the yeas Angelina quickly became the place to be and be seen. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/top-5-fun-facts-about-coco-chanel\/\">Coco Chanel<\/a> herself was known to hang out here by day, enjoying the teas and treats that the parlor provided.<\/span><\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_17412\" style=\"width: 810px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-17412\" class=\"size-full wp-image-17412\" src=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/800px-angelina_cafe_paris_4375.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/800px-angelina_cafe_paris_4375.jpg 800w, https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/800px-angelina_cafe_paris_4375-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/800px-angelina_cafe_paris_4375-768x576.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-17412\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Angelina on Rue de Rivoli &#8211; by Gryffindor &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/commons.wikimedia.org\/wiki\/File:Angelina_cafe_Â鶹APP_4375.jpg\">Wikimedia Commons<\/a><\/p><\/div>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Today it seems everyone and their uncle make time to flock here to buy <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/5-reasons-to-visit-the-musee-du-chocolat\/\">chocolates<\/a> to take home with them. They are an edible <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/a-guide-to-walking-in-paris-like-a-parisian-street-etiquette\/\">Â鶹APPian<\/a> souvenir on par with macaroons from Ladur\u00e9e. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Because of the parlor\u2019s popularity, the brand have launched a few other locations around the city. The on on Rue de Rivoli remains the original and most popular. Expect queues and chaos at the best of times; they open at 7:30am so get there early if possible. <\/span><\/p>\n<h4 class=\"p7\"><span class=\"s1\">Visit the Louvre on Rue de Rivoli <\/span><\/h4>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Probably not something I need to tell you to do on this famous street, but the Louvre Museum is bordered by the Rue de Rivoli and it\u2019s somewhat impossible to miss this attraction even if you try. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The<a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/history-of-the-louvre-palace-before-the-art\/\"> Louvre Museum<\/a> is one of the biggest art museums in all of Europe. Across 300 different rooms there are over 35,000 works of art on display. Personally I found viewing the <i>Three Graces<\/i> one of the most fulfilling experiences in a museum, ever. <i>Death of the Virgin<\/i> is spine chilling, no matter how many times you view it and <i>Women of Algiers <\/i>is another favorite. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Admission into the Louvre is \u20ac15 when buying on arrival. On the first Saturday of each month, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/visiting-the-louvre-at-night\/\">after 6pm<\/a>, there is free admission to all. Free entry aside, there is something extremely enchanting about being in this space after dark. You can visit until 9:45pm on Wednesdays and Fridays as well, you\u2019ll just have to pay the fee. <\/span><\/p>\n<h4 class=\"p7\"><span class=\"s1\">Visit the Jardin des Tuileries on Rue de Rivoli <\/span><\/h4>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Not many people realize that they are on the Rue de Rivoli when they enter the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/luxembourg-vs-tuileries-which-garden-to-choose\/\">Tuileries Gardens<\/a>. Most walking tours wind the streets before landing up here so it can be difficult to get one\u2019s bearings . <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The Tuileries are the gardens of the palace also found on the grounds. It is the largest<a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/top-ten-plazas-in-paris\/\"> public square<\/a> in the French capital and happens to also mark the start of the 8th arrondissement. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Because of its size, there is usually always something happening in the space; markets, rallies and even protests make their way to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/top10\/10-things-to-eat-at-the-place-du-tertre\/\">Place<\/a> de la Concorde to get things done.
