Inside the space you\u2019ll find works from everyone from Warhol to Picasso; Duchamp to Bacon. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">What I like most about the curation of the exhibits is that they are always presented within a chronological framework of the artistic movements from which the pieces arose. It gives the museum flow without one having to focus too hard on dates and placement of works throughout <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/the-history-of-lisbons-tagus-river\/\">history<\/a>. <\/span><\/p>\n<h4 class=\"p7\"><span class=\"s2\">2. <\/span><span class=\"s1\">It is Situated in Bel\u00e9m in Lisbon<\/span><\/h4>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The Museu Cole\u00e7\u00e3o Berardo is situated in the southern coastal region of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/top-5-fun-facts-about-belem\/\">Bel\u00e9m<\/a>. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">This is a laid-back part of Lisbon where visitors come to enjoy seafood and drinks by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/the-history-of-lisbons-tagus-river\/\">Tagus<\/a> waters. Two blocks north of the museum is the Lisbon Planetarium and the Lisbon Maritime Museum. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">On the grounds just next door to the Museu Cole\u00e7\u00e3o Berardo you\u2019ll find the massive garden of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/what-to-do-in-lisbon-in-belem\/\">Bel\u00e9m<\/a>, a public park ground with a special garden dedicated to Vasco da Gama. There is a Rooftop Terrace and Garden<\/span><\/h4>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The surrounding streets of the Museu Cole\u00e7\u00e3o Berardo, as well as the exhibit rooms of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/top-5-museums-in-lisbon\/\">museum<\/a>, tend to be chaotic and filled with foot traffic at the best of times. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">While this is absolutely manageable for a few hours, eventually one finds themselves in need of a break and some sort of replenishment. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The rooftop of the Museu Cole\u00e7\u00e3o Berardo is somewhat of an attraction of its own. The rooftop is free for the public to visit, no need to pay the full museum admission fee to gain access.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Also situated on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/best-rooftop-bars-in-lisbon\/\">rooftop<\/a>, is the Museu Cole\u00e7\u00e3o Berardo cafe. As far as museum cafes go one can never be too optimistic. This one, however, was surprisingly impressive.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/lisbon-for-vegans\/\">menu<\/a> is mostly comprised of pizza or sushi, both of which are made from scratch while you wait and even watch. The friend I visited the museum with had the pizza; I had the chocolate cake \u2014 both were subjects of positive conversation for a short while afterward!<\/span><\/p>\n<h4 class=\"p11\"><span class=\"s1\">4. It is Suitable for Children in Lisbon<\/span><\/h4>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The Museu Cole\u00e7\u00e3o Berardo features a unique wing known as the Educational Department of the museum. The goal is long term learning and as a result this museum is one of the most <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/what-to-do-with-children-in-lisbon\/\">kid-friendly spaces i<\/a>n the area. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">You\u2019l also have the option of taking a guided tour of the space with your child and have it presented in an understandable manner for all who are present \u2014 fun for the whole family. <\/span><\/p>\n<h4 class=\"p11\"><span class=\"s1\">5. Admission is Free on Saturdays in Lisbon<\/span><\/h4>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Most <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/a-visit-to-lisbons-oriental-museum\/\">museums<\/a> in Europe have a specific day, or at very least a specific time slot, wherein admission to the space is completely free. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">For the Museu Cole\u00e7\u00e3o Berardo this happens on Saturdays. Being so far out of the city center, the weekday traffic getting to and from the neighborhood is hard to navigate. On weekends things are much calmer. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">While many of the sites in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/a-walk-in-belem\/\">Bel\u00e9m<\/a> will still be crowded with tourists, it makes a difference when the roads and public transport are flowing more freely.
