There are usually <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/best-rooftop-bars-in-lisbon\/\">rooftop<\/a> bars, terraces and sometimes even pools. They are the perfect last minute sunset viewing stations. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">I understand that sometimes a more intimate or private setting is preferred \u2014 here are a few places where one can kiss the sun goodbye in Lisbon. <\/span><\/p>\n<h4 class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s1\">Miradouro Portas do Sol in Lisbon <\/span><\/h4>\n<h6 class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s1\">Largo Portas do Sol<\/span><\/h6>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The Portas do Sol is a viewpoint situated in the heart of the Alfama, the most historic part of Lisbon. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Since the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/top-5-fun-facts-about-alfama\/\">Alfama<\/a> is built throughout rolling hills, this viewpoint boasts and impressive view on most of the neighborhood as well as the nearby Tagus River. You\u2019ll have to get there well before sunset to get a prime viewing spot. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Many of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/tour\/city\/paris-walking-tours\/\"><span class=\"s2\">free guided walking tour<\/span><\/a>s around the Alfama either start or end near this viewpoint. <\/span><\/p>\n<h4 class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s1\">Miradouro de Santa Catarina in Lisbon<\/span><\/h4>\n<h6 class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s1\">R. de Santa Catarina S\/N<\/span><\/h6>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">This is probably the busiest sunset spot in all of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/best-beaches-in-lisbon\/\">Lisbon<\/a>. Every evening, if the weather permits, this viewpoint is packed with travelers and locals alike all wanting to get a glimpse of the sun setting behind the Ponte de 25 Abril. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The popularity has attracted the attention of buskers and other <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/a-locals-guide-to-lisbon-street-art\/\">street artists<\/a> who contribute to the space in whatever form they choose. It is one of the few public spaces where you can pretty much see the entirety of the bridge without obstruction. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">If this spot is a little too crowded when you arrive, take the two minute walk to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/the-5-best-restaurants-in-belem-lisbon\/\">restaurant<\/a> Noobai just down the street. They have a terrace with a similar view over the water where you can snack on Mediterranean dishes as the sun goes down. <\/span><\/p>\n<h4 class=\"p7\"><span class=\"s1\">Praca do Comercio in Lisbon<\/span><\/h4>\n<h6>Pra\u00e7a do Com\u00e9rcio<\/h6>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">You\u2019ll have to do a bit of a hike down the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/where-to-see-wildlife-in-lisbon\/\">beach bluffs<\/a> to enjoy this next sunset spot. As the water washes over your feet and the light begins to change, you\u2019ll watch sail boats go by as they head in for the evening. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">With regards to crowds, this place is usually quite empty. You\u2019ll share the sand with just a handful of people, which beats battling the hoards of humans who flock to other viewpoints to be able to view this bridge at sunset. <\/span><\/p>\n<h4 class=\"p7\"><span class=\"s1\">Tower of Bel\u00e9m in Lisbon<\/span><\/h4>\n<h6 class=\"p8\"><span class=\"s1\">Av. Bras\u00edlia<\/span><\/h6>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/the-5-best-restaurants-in-belem-lisbon\/\">Bel\u00e9m<\/a> tower is also known as the Tower of St Vincent. It is the most iconic <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/a-walk-in-belem\/\">landmark<\/a> in the neighborhood of Bel\u00e9m which is a interesting part of the city of Lisbon. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Many of the most prominent museums call this part of town home. The tower sits on a wide space of open ground where visitors can set up a picnic space, or simply a chill area, to enjoy during the sunset hours. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The sun sets just behind the tower. Since this is such a well known attraction in the city of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/the-best-2-star-hotels-of-lisbon\/\">Lisbon<\/a> it can get crowded during the day when tourists flock to see it. Visiting during sunset means most of the crowding would have dispersed leaving the area on the shore far more intimate. <\/span><\/p>\n<h4 class=\"p7\"><span class=\"s1\">Restaurante Panor\u00e2mico de Monsanto in Lisbon <\/span><\/h4>\n<h6 class=\"p8\"><span class=\"s1\">Estr. da Bela Vista<\/span><\/h6>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Monsanto is the biggest forest-style park in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/our-recommended-3-star-hotels-in-lisbon\/\">Lisbon<\/a>. It is located in the north west of the city, well out of the city center. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The park is lush and green almost all year round and is a beautiful place to explore . To see the sunset, however, you\u2019ll have to get slightly higher up \u2014 somewhere you can overlook the park and the sun going down over the water. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/lisbon-top-5-local-restaurants\/\">restaurant<\/a> Panor\u00e2mico is an abandoned space that has been out of business for years. Thankfully the green forest and blue skies visible in the panoramic views keep the premises from being a spooky one. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The isolation that this space provides is the perfect place from which to watch the sun go down.
