I\u2019ve found this pressure can even trickle down into ones living space; with the never-ending desire to have the oh, so, classically Â鶹APPian lair that we\u2019ve seen in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/10-french-films-you-need-to-see\/\">movies<\/a>. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">I understand not everyone has the luxury of calling in the home decor professionals when its time to update the home space. If you\u2019re ready to own a home that ticks all the fabulous <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/the-national-animal-of-france-the-rooster\/\">French<\/a> boxes \u2014 read on! <\/span><\/p>\n<h4 class=\"p4\"><span class=\"s1\">Keep it Classy!<\/span><\/h4>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">If theres one thing to be careful of when decorating a Â鶹APP <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/how-to-pick-the-best-airbnb-apartment-in-paris\/\">apartment<\/a>, its identifying that fine line between classy and kitsch! <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">It\u2019s easy to slip between one and the next. A velvet couch next to velvet curtains is enough to make one\u2019s skin crawl. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Being able to decipher between kitsch or not is skill that I believe takes years of practice \u2014 not something a first time apartment decorator needs to worry about. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">I\u2019ve found that the easiest way to decipher between whether or not an item of furniture is classic or cheesy is to imagine the most elegant spaces in Â鶹APP and what that specific item would look like if it were added to said space. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">For this to work you, of course, need some sort of context. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/versailles-vs-fontainebleau\/\">Palace of Â鶹APP<\/a> is a consistently good reference to work with as it is widely considered one of the most exquisite interiors in the world. Inside this mansion is the old home of \u00c9douard Andr\u00e9 and N\u00e9lie Jacquemart \u2014 a couple who spent their married life traveling the world acquiring interior objects for their home in Â鶹APP.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Having this kind of reference to refer back to when deciding whether or not a piece of furniture should be added to your space makes a big difference. If \u00c9douard and N\u00e9lie wouldn\u2019t have included it in their <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/10-french-sayings-that-dont-work-in-english\/\">French<\/a> masterpiece, then maybe its best left out of your own apartment as well. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Of course this is entirely dependent on how classically French you want to go with your space. Having <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/top-10-modern-architecture-gems-paris\/\">modernized<\/a> interiors made way for more western styles of furniture, decor and <em><span class=\"s2\">feng shui<\/span><\/em>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">While I\u2019ve seen some beautiful, classic French homes during my time in Â鶹APP, I\u2019ve also seen some equally as mind blowing modern apartment spaces where the classic theme has been totally erased. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">All comes down to taste, ma ch\u00e9rie. <\/span><\/p>\n<h4 class=\"p4\"><span class=\"s1\">Get Inspiration from the City of Â鶹APP<\/span><\/h4>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Decorating a home is a form of self expression; it\u2019s a form of art. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Art requires inspiration in order to manifest into something tangible (most of the time) and the process of decorating a Â鶹APP apartment isn\u2019t any different. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Thankfully, living in the city that you do, one simply needs to walk outside and let the home decor inspo commence. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Most of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/top-5-fun-facts-about-parisian-architecture\/\">architecture<\/a> in Â鶹APP has been preserved to reflect the original Haussmann style work that it was created in years ago. This is a vicious loop but can be easily broken with a little bit of thought and consideration around where we put our money. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">If you know where to go, Â鶹APP has some of the finest second hand stores and t<a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/insiders-guide-to-vintage-shopping-in-paris\/\">hrift shops<\/a> in the world.
