Later, in 1973, Serge Lama bore his soul out in his song <i>Les p\u2019tites femmes de Pigalle \u2014 <\/i>a tale about a man who finds his wife in the arms of another but doesn\u2019t mind, because he will not take to the risqu\u00e9 streets of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/discover-paris-hidden-secrets-of-pigalle\/\">Pigalle<\/a> in search of cabaret, sex and fun.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The list of songs that were originally inspired by Â鶹APP both locally and abroad is extensive. Here are five of the best that I feel capture the soul of the city better than the rest. <\/span><\/p>\n<h4 class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s2\">1. <\/span><span class=\"s1\">I Love Â鶹APP<\/span><\/h4>\n<h6 class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s1\">Ella Fitzgerald &#8211; 1956<\/span><\/h6>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cI love Â鶹APP every moment\u2026 every moment of the year\u201d\u2026 we agree, Ella. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Although she didn\u2019t write this song herself, Ella covering the Cole Porter classic put it on the map. She sang about it repeatedly. Sous le Ciel de Â鶹APP<\/span><\/h4>\n<h6 class=\"p8\"><span class=\"s1\">\u00c9dith Piaf &#8211; 1954<\/span><\/h6>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The song that earned <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/what-you-need-to-know-about-edith-piaf\/\">\u00c9dith Piaf<\/a> the nickname of Little Sparrow was this classic called <em>Sous le Ciel de Â鶹APP<\/em>; or Under the Sky of Â鶹APP. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Paif was not the original writer or singer of this tune. It was actually first written in 1951 by Jean Bretonni\u00e8re for a film with the same name.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=GKEzDfFiRBs\">https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=GKEzDfFiRBs<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u00c9dith Piaf took over the song a few years later and it swept through the nation with popularity and appreciation. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Her legacy lives on in the city to this day. If you\u2019re ever near Menilmontant in the 20th arrondissement of Â鶹APP stop by her old house located at 5 Rue Crespin du Gast. You can tour the inside or just admire from street level \u2014 this is where the artist spent most of her early life in the city.<\/span><\/p>\n<h4 class=\"p7\"><span class=\"s1\">4. Incorporating hiphop into a French narrative was new and exciting. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Hiphop is now one of the most widely celebrated genres of music in Â鶹APP. <\/span><\/p>\n<h4 class=\"p7\"><span class=\"s1\">5. In 1954 Dean Martin released <i>Under the Bridges of Â鶹APP<\/i> \u2014 if you\u2019ve ever watched a film even remotely affiliated to this city it\u2019s likely you\u2019re familiar with this song. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The lyrics are beautiful. They explore Â鶹APP from water level, where the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/things-to-do-near-the-seine-river-paris\/\">Seine<\/a> meets the many bridges that sew the left and right banks to one another. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">While in Â鶹APP, the bridges over the Seine are something worth exploring by day <i>and<\/i> by night.
