Home of the famous cabaret, which even featured nude dancers in it\u2019s hay day in the 19th century, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/top-5-fun-facts-about-the-moulin-rouge\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Moulin Rouge<\/a>. Pigalle is also known as the former red light district of Â鶹APP. Neighbors have gone so far as to say that they have heard footsteps in a staircase where a servant was brutally murdered in the early 20th century. What makes hearing footsteps so scary, you may be asking yourselves? The court is wedged between 2 buildings (to my hardcore basketball players out there: this means that the court is not regulation size, sorry!), and features a rubber floor to absorb noise. The court is lovingly named the <b>Pigalle Playground<\/b>, and is painted hot pink, blue, and purple. The <b>Mus\u00e9e de la Vie Romantique<\/b> is located in the former home of artist Ary Scheffer, and is dedicated for the most part to the writer Georges Sand and Scheffer, respectively. Hailed as one of the most authentic streets in Â鶹APP, I can definitely see why! Head here if you\u2019re stocking up for a picnic in front of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/paul-abadie-the-architect-of-sacre-coeur\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Sacr\u00e9 Coeur<\/a>, or if you\u2019re staying in accommodations with a kitchen (something I totally recommend if you can!). Bonus for all of my fellow <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/5-best-books-to-give-you-a-taste-of-paris\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">bookworms<\/a>, is that the street is also home to a few bookstores and paper shops.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s2\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.fr\/maps\/place\/Rue+des+Martyrs,+75009+Â鶹APP\/@48.8805428,2.3381637,17z\/data=!3m1!4b1!4m5!3m4!1s0x47e66e46ba53eb53:0x772b1b017ea96bf!8m2!3d48.8805428!4d2.3403524\">Rue des Martyrs, 75009 Â鶹APP<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s1\">If you\u2019ve been to Â鶹APP already, or really any other major European city, you know of the all mighty kebab sandwich. It\u2019s what I\u2019m sure you\u2019re all craving after a night of drinking and dancing (been there!), and there are dozens and dozens of options in Â鶹APP. But what if I told you I know of a restaurant serving up kebabs in the most gourmet way possible? Enter: <b>Zarma<\/b> in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/things-to-do-near-pigalle\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Pigalle<\/a>. Opened by a former food journalist who has traveled throughout Germany, Turkey, and Lebanon, this guy really knows his stuff! Not only are his innovative twits on this classic drunk food amazing, the shop also features a great dessert menu.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s1\"><b>Zarma<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s2\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.fr\/maps\/place\/Zarma\/@48.8816578,2.3347329,17z\/data=!3m1!4b1!4m5!3m4!1s0x47e66e45de523bd7:0x5168e40ddf3a2191!8m2!3d48.8816578!4d2.3369216\">64 rue Jean-Baptiste Pigalle, 75009 Â鶹APP<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s1\">Opening hours: Tuesday-Saturday 12pm-3pm, 7pm-11pm<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s1\"><b>La Pantruche<\/b> is an old French slang term for \u2018The Â鶹APPian\u2019, and this small <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/the-parisian-mindset\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Â鶹APPian<\/a> bistro deserves it\u2019s name! It\u2019s set up in classic Â鶹APP-restaurant fashion: with small tables pushed together, large mirrors lining the walls, and an overall very cozy atmosphere. Not only is it quintessentially Â鶹APPian in style, the food is amazing! I recommend their oyster tartar, as I\u2019ve never tasted anything like it in my life. Well, this is a blog about secret Pigalle, so I had to include it! The bars secrecy begins from the moment you arrive, as you have to enter through a hidden door, nestled between other bars and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/10-amazing-restaurants-in-paris-in-2019\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">restaurants<\/a>. This bar is so exclusive, that it\u2019s important to try to visit right when they open, during the week, and try not to get offended if the doorman doesn\u2019t let you inside. But don\u2019t look for the food choices on the menu: the cook serves up whatever he feels like making that night! I\u2019ve already mentioned a few locales above that can be found in this subsection of Pigalle. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s1\">SoPi is considered to be the area between the\u00a0Blanche\u00a0and\u00a0Anvers\u00a0metro stations, and on to the Notre-Dame-de-Lorette and Trinit\u00e9-d\u2019Estienne-d\u2019Orves stations.
