For the better part of the 20s and 30s, art and artists alike spread through the streets of Â鶹APP. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">By day, they sought inspiration for their works in districts such <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/top-5-best-restaurants-in-le-marais\/\">Le Marais<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/top-5-non-touristy-restaurants-in-montmartre\/\">Montmartre<\/a>. By night, the artists drowned themselves in liquor and conversation in Montparnasse, a district in the 14th of Â鶹APP where nightlife still reigns supreme. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/all-about-ernest-hemingways-life-in-paris\/\">Hemingway<\/a>, Dali, Edith Piaf and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/things-to-do-near-paris-picasso-museum\/\">Picasso<\/a> were amongst the regulars of the establishments that littered this city. Today in Montparnasse you\u2019ll find an equally as hip and artistic crowd. Rent is high and cost of living is far more affordable in other parts of Â鶹APP. Nevertheless, many artists still flock to these streets by day to <i>sell<\/i> their art in the district.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Montparnasse is also home to some top Â鶹APPian attractions. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/5-reasons-to-visit-the-montparnasse-tower-instead-of-the-eiffel-tower\/\">Montparnasse Tower<\/a> sees thousands of visitors from around the world daily. It is the tallest building in Â鶹APP \u2014 simply observing the Â鶹APPian skyline will make this obvious. From the top floor you\u2019ll have one of the most beautiful views of the city possible. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">This attractive neighborhood brings in tourists in their droves. There are more interesting places to stay in Montparnasse than I can count \u2014 in the spirit of keeping things simple, here are three of the favourites. <\/span><\/p>\n<h4 class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s1\">Hotel Korner in Montparnasse <\/span><\/h4>\n<h6 class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s1\">54 Rue Falgui\u00e8re<\/span><\/h6>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">For anyone who values their <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/shopping-in-paris\/\">shopping<\/a> experience, it doesn\u2019t get much better than the Galeries Lafayette centers located around Â鶹APP. These are multi-story department stores featuring the top names in fashion available. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Hotel Korner is situated just a short walk from the Galeries Lafayette <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/10-things-to-see-in-montparnasse\/\">Montparnasse<\/a>. For a 2 star hotel I could not be more impressed with this space. Hotel Korner wont burn a hole in your pocket; you\u2019ll have more to blow over at Lafayette.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The hotel serves <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/best-breakfast-places-in-paris\/\">breakfast<\/a> and cocktails on the rooftop terrace that overlooks the surrounding building tops \u2014 its awfully Â鶹APPian and very boho-chic.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The nearest metro is a two minute walk away. Enjoying your breakfast here is like something out of a dream. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The hotel is within walking distance of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwalks.com\/blog\/luxembourg-vs-tuileries-which-garden-to-choose\/\">Jardin du Luxembourg<\/a> just two blocks to the east. Many of the interiors have been preserved and refurbished by owners so that today they make for distinctly vintage, French places to stay. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Home owners in Montparnasse have been hopping on this Airbnb trend and inviting strangers to rent out their spaces for periods of time.
